What do you think of Luther?

Sorry but it reminds me of a highly religious American.

I went to school with one. He was very cool.

First thought- Vandross. Second thought- I could imagine DS having a friend with the name and I wouldn't think it particularly odd. Unusual but not odd. Third thought, great name for a cat.

As I am 45 my immediate thought was Lex Luther, Supermans arch enemy

Luther is a beautiful name... Luther Vabdross comes tobmind. Martin Luther of course comes to mind as well.

I just think Luther the crime drama, so it just makes me think of a gruff black man :P

I guess it's not a bad name, I just can't shake the association. And I didn't even watch the program

I associate it with Lucifer. Unsure why, except for the similar sound.

Luther is a great name! Strong and classic. And not overused.

Like Luther people will try to shorten it to Lou which I don't like.

I also thought of Lucifer and then Lex Luther.

It makes me think of dOur and restrictive Protestants - sorry!

Very religious ie born again Christian. Obviously fine if that is what you are. Or Luther Vandross.

Lucifer springs to mind for me, which I know doesn't really make sense.

Immediate association was with John Luther played by Idris Elba. Who is the most beautiful man ever born. But as a first name? I'm not sure.
