Expecting Quads!!

Quadsontheway · 17/09/2014 00:05

I'm currently expecting quads at the moment but I'm yet to find out the genders so I am short listing from these names, I'm aware that some of them are quite unusual but I don't want them to be one of 4 kids in the same class with the same name. I'm open to all honest opinions before I choose the final 4:

Girls
Anarchy "Ana" "Annie" Jessica Ellen
Avia
Cara
Emilia Valentina
January "Jani" Nicolette
Josslyn
Joy-Anna
Kendall Kate
Madison "Maddie"
Nova
Rebel
Sophia
Tyler/Tylar
Vienna
Xanthe

Boys
Chai
Daxton
Felix
Gage
Jonah
Jedediah
Jeremiah
Kennedy
Palmer
Phoenix
Wyatt Jett Everett
Xavier
Zac

all the names need to flow with our surname Carter-Hunt

OP posts:

Wasn't there a thread a few months ago (May have been zapped) with someone else claiming to be expecting quads too?

The pop culture continues with Rebel and Anarchy too - Rebel Wilson the actress has siblings called Annarchi, Liberty and Ryot Grin

AnotherStitchInTime · 17/09/2014 19:24

How about:

Xenia for a girl
Emmet means rebellion (against the British Grin)
Chione is Greek and means rebellious snow nymph

I like Xanthe and Nova for girls and Felix, Jeremiah, Everett and Xavier from the boys.

Lunastarfish · 17/09/2014 21:25

Yeezus! Good luck! I like:-

January
Xanthe
Emilia
Sophia

Zac
Wyatt
Xavier
Palmer.

I like Kennedy but I think it is more of a girls name, like Cassidy (which you should choose of course!)

I also reallylike the suggestion of Maverick, that's cool.

zeeboo · 20/09/2014 00:01

I think somebody watches waaay too much TLC and Lifetime!!

Turquoisetamborine · 20/09/2014 21:35

Wow it's a wonder your husband's family hasn't been in the papers with that amazing history of multiples. Have you thought about contacting the Daily Mail?
My brothers are from three generations of twins and they made the papers and that isn't half as unlikely as your situation.

ByeByeButterfly · 21/09/2014 00:23

Girls names I like:

Sophia
Vienna
Xanthe

I would also like Emilia but the Valentina being 2 names ending in a doesn't flow right to me, but both lovely names.

Boys names I like:
Xavier
Zac
Felix
Jonah

I think if I was choosing your quad names I'd go with:
Sophia, Jonah, Xanthe and Felix :D

Linguaphile · 21/09/2014 00:54

I sincerely hope that this is not made up, OP, but the chances of your story being true (two sets of quads and two sets of triplets without any maternal heredity?) is so statistically unlikely that it is hard to believe you. Whilst it's fine to use this board to gather opinions about names even if you're not pregnant, fake stories about multiples makes it hard for people in real-life multiple pregnancies to be taken seriously. As a twin mum trying to choose names for my girls last year, I experienced shunning on other name boards because so many people were faking multiples that every person claiming to have twins or more on the way was automatically labelled a troll. This board was one of the few places I was taken seriously; please don't jeopardise that for others.

BOFster · 21/09/2014 01:01

You're right, Linguaphile, I hadn't thought of it like that.

Onedropoflove · 21/09/2014 01:01

There was someone afew weeks back who just found out she was expecting quads but the thread got deleted for some reason.

ByeByeButterfly · 21/09/2014 01:18

I often thought about that too actually as twins run in both sides of our families.

However apparently it's only the mothers genes that play a part in whether there is a multiple pregnancy and then the genders of those multiples is chosen by the father xy and xx obviously.

But I don't like to tell someone they are lying or unbelievable, it doesn't feel right.

Of course they would be in any part of the world, so in that case there is a chance...

Who knows.

My opinions on names still stand.

CheerfulYank · 21/09/2014 01:18

Actually I've read a study/article that theorized identical multiples can be passed through the father...something about egg splitting enzymes in sperm?

FarelyKnuts · 21/09/2014 01:33

totally misses point of thread and ignores the possibility it is somewhat unlikely to be true Just to point out to whoever it it was that suggested Oisín and said it sounds like ocean, it really doesn't. It is pronounced much more like O sheen not o shun.

moxon · 21/09/2014 03:05

squeak oooooh Hades! Wink
op I like the idea of cities as names but Vienna will end up being called sausage or something. Berlin would work better (female character in a kevin spacey movie).

DinoSnores · 21/09/2014 17:34

onedrop, that thread came across as fairly realistic, but was deleted because a couple of people told the OP she wasn't allowed to have any sort of nervous excitement but instead should be terrified of having quads.

Linguaphile · 23/09/2014 09:59

Yes, I've read that too Cheerful. However, identical quads are ridiculously rare. Like, there are only about 60 known sets in the world (among a population of around 7 billion)...

SouthernComforts · 23/09/2014 10:12

Lolz. Good effort OP.

I'd go for Anarchy, Rebel, Chaos and Maverick. Az, Raz, Chaz and Maz as nn.

DogCalledRudis · 23/09/2014 15:10

Anarchy? WOW...
But what if she grows up to be a tory voter?

MrsPatMustard · 23/09/2014 21:24

Round our way Rebel is a common name for a dog - usually a large intimidating dog like Rottweilers. Please don't call your child Rebel...

LittleBairn · 24/09/2014 08:42

I think the poster watches too many YouTube families there are at least 3/4 set of names that would suggest it. Along with the Duggars and Kate plus 8.
Maybe pick a baby name book instead.

TessOfTheFurbyvilles · 24/09/2014 11:34

Four boys surely must be named Huey, Dewey, Louie and Phooey?!

Wink

Definate no’s - Anarchy, Avia, Tyler, Rebel (tho would make a great middle name or maybe a nickname for Rebecca), Palmer

lovely - Nova, Cara, Emilia, Sophia, Vienna, Xanthe (one of my fave names ever!), Felix, Xavier (with Xav for short), Phoenix, Gage,

other suggestions - Vada, Noa, Nuala, Alba, Seth,
