help with girls names

I've always loved "wintery" names, but I've just found out I'm pregnant and my due date is April. Boys names are not a problem, but if it's a girl, we're stumped! So far I have...
Ana
Annalise
Adria
Aria
Aneira
Ivory
Hannalore
Mirabelle

I really like "A" names!

It's hard, too, as I'm a northerner and have to think of pronunciations. For example, I like Hope, but it would be 'ope. I remember my niece going to school with a lot of Demmeh's and Koertneh's!

Please help! I know it's a long way off, but I like having some idea, and so far, I really haven't a clue.

How about something with a silent 'H' such as Heloise?

manicinsomniac · 31/08/2014 15:24

Ana - like it, but prefer the more English looking Anna
Annalise - not keen
Adria - quite like it but it seems unfinished. Adriana?
Aria - love it
Aneira - not sure how to pronounce this, I haven't heard it before
Ivory - like it. I have never met anyone with this as a name
Hannalore - don't know this but not keen on the sound. Hannalie is nice?
Mirabelle - quite like it. Prefer Miranda and other -belle names

If you like 'A' names, I have about a million!

April (the name!)? I'm due in April and quite like the name April, but my EDD is around the 30th so I might have to change her name to May if I go over lol

Never heard Hanalore before, it's nice. Is it lore like "law" or like "Laura" at the end?

What do you have for a boy?

JoanJettPack · 01/09/2014 10:05

Thanks for all the great suggestions. I love Eloise (without the H) and that's a definite maybe! I've also found Albany, which I really like, but only because I think Albie as a nn would be lovely for a girl.

My mum's sister is called April, so I feel like I can't use that as my Dm would be miffed that we didn't use her name instead. She suggested her name (Iris)for both of my previous pregnancies, before we discovered they were boys!

We've picked Cole for a boy. I've always liked it :)

Avril
Alba
Annabeth, Annabel

I like the Anna spelling and think it's a pretty perfect name on its own.

What about I names, they would work with a nothern accent

Illaria
Iona
Iris

Pugaboo · 02/09/2014 19:48

Ariadne is cute.

What about Annelie or Anelia?

I love Merelise / Marelise and think that's quite springy, but DH doesn't so doubt we'd use it if we had a girl.

Other A names I like include Arietty, Amity, Arya, Athena, Azaria, araminta (minty).

PamShoo · 02/09/2014 20:24

A names...

Ariella
Alina
Astrid
Aurelia
Ava
Alyssa

FWIW, love Aria and Ivory!
