Is a moron
Or a train
Or a bad politician
Or a angry cook
Or an old fashioned expression

Next Wink

My dad is Gordon. Good Scottish name, gets called Gordy by everyone.

DuchessofKirkcaldy · 21/08/2014 00:11

I know a little Gordon......it suits him and he is lovely. Good Scottish name Smile

temporaryusername · 24/08/2014 03:04

Yay from me. It's a great name - see beyond the obvious associations people! None of your dc's peers are going to give a second thought to Gordon the gopher or Gordon Brown!

CheerfulYank · 24/08/2014 03:12

Yay! I like it and think Gordie is an adorable nickname. But ice hockey is a big thing in my culture, especially Gordie Howe, Mr Hockey himself. :)

ChaosK · 24/08/2014 07:36

In the name of all things holy - NAY NAY NAY. (My Dad's name - awful - the name, not my dad!)

MrsPatMustard · 24/08/2014 08:31

Nay.

MrsBungle · 24/08/2014 08:34

No. I'm Scottish and know loads of old Gordon's. I don't think it's nice at all.

KoalaDownUnder · 24/08/2014 13:11

Gordon is the late-middle-aged bloke who wears the same brown trousers all week and eats a scotch egg for lunch at his desk every day. He trades slightly risqué jokes with Nigel and Derek at lunch time and drives a poo-coloured car.

That is how I picture Gordon.

susiedaisy · 24/08/2014 13:15

Nope

TheLastThneed · 24/08/2014 13:20

Nay. Koala has it spot on.

AberdeenAngusina · 24/08/2014 16:28

I like Scottish names, but Gordon just seems to have vanished off the radar for baby boys - I know five Gordons and they're all over 50. I think "Gordon is a moron" killed it off, and then Gordon Brown made sure it couldn't come back.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 24/08/2014 18:54

I know a handsome twenty something Gordon !

buttercrumble · 24/08/2014 18:57

No

expatinscotland · 24/08/2014 19:20

NO

Viviennemary · 24/08/2014 19:24

It's dire. Please don't.

HouseAtreides · 24/08/2014 19:36

Nooooooo.

curiousgeorgie · 25/08/2014 00:21

My best friends dad is called Gordon,
They always laugh and say 'why would they choose that? Who would stick a little baby with Gordon!'

Sorry Blush

almapudden · 25/08/2014 00:32

All right if you're Scottish. I used to work with quite a fit Gordon when I was at sixth form.

Cristalle · 25/08/2014 00:36

I don't mind it. The reasons people have mentioned confused me. The thing I'd consider would be that it kind of means really super fat in spanish. Gordón
