Thanks for the comments, lots to think about. But we think we are getting closer to a final decision.

Are you in Dublin Ditzy?

AugustaGloop · 13/08/2014 11:42

Sophie E-B in fact has Sonny, Kit and Ray in case you fancy adding Ray to the list (clearly you have similar taste in names!)

DitzyDonkey · 13/08/2014 11:45

squoosh no the midlands but lived in Dublin for a few years!

augusta I actually DETEST the name Ray, but maybe that's more to do with association.

ditzy do you find that Irish people are generally more conservative when it comes to naming children? All my friends stick strictly to James, Sophie and Irish names.

I love the idea of a little Jude or Kit stomping around Laois or Longford.

DitzyDonkey · 13/08/2014 11:55

Oh absolutely squoosh, extremely conservative and tend to go mainly for Irish names.

I teach a class that is mainly made up of Matthews and Sarah's , as in the vast majority of the class. It's amazing.

When I first had my son most people had never even heard of the name Eli, which I find hard to believe.

Oh yes so many little Matthews in Ireland all of a sudden!

Kit or Jude.

Sonny, sounds cute on a little kid, but would be a bit odd on a 56 year old bloke I reckon.
