Classy and classic boys names?

Tweediestwo · 08/08/2014 21:28

I have my girl name but I cannot find a boys name I like! I have hunted high and low! They all seem to be the same. Does anyone have any suggestions for a classy boys name that hasn't been used in the last 60 seconds?' Please help! Hubby and I feel a bit like a roundabout!

The only boys name I like is Wyatt. But because this is not a 'classic' or 'traditional' name, I think I would regret it.

Btw my girls name is Genevieve. Just so you can see what sort of name I am after.

Thank you girlies!

I like Matthew, but it is my brothers name. If it wasn't I would definitely named the baby Matthew.

I know a couple of babies named Arthur and an Albert. They are cute.
Unfortunately winston means a cigarette in our circle of friends, a term my husbands friends started when they were naughty teens hiding it from their parents :-s

Shorten Nicholas to Nico - or have Nichol/Nicol - used but not commonplace in Scotland.

Montsti · 10/08/2014 13:51

I know a sibling pair called Nicholas and Genevieve. I dislike Nick too so would go for Nico as an option. I know about 7 Genevieve's btw. I'm not that keen but pls use Vivi or Eve as a nn. and not Gen!

BikeRunSki · 10/08/2014 19:39

The only Genevieve I know calls herself Jenny (that spelling).

shanewayne · 10/08/2014 19:55

I have an 18 month old nicholas, but we call him nico Smile

OP - Lawrence is GORGEOUS! Was desperate to call DS this but hubby hated it. To be fair (now our DS is born) he really isn't a Lawrence at all, so fair enough. But it's still a lovely name...

Davidtennantmistress · 10/08/2014 20:22

I think of my son, he's a wyatt, a cheeky gorgeous little blonde haired monkey. I also have a Joseph and he's just the same, both really suit their names I've only heard of one other wyatt locally, oh and we picked it as it's old English apparently for hardy.

rachel234 · 11/08/2014 06:54

Genevieve is lovely!

How about Quentin for a boy?

summerberries · 11/08/2014 13:19

Laurence is lovely and not OTT. Laurie is such a fab nick name.

I have Genevieve on my list too- so pretty!
