LaCerbiatta · 07/08/2014 21:18

Makes me think it's short for albino. Sorry! :)

bouquetofpencils · 07/08/2014 21:18

I know one. Lovely.

mummybare · 07/08/2014 21:21

I love Albert but there is a 'loud parenter' at one of DD's classes with an Albie so that has put me off. It's the association rather than the name, though, so if you love it, go for it!

GreatJoanUmber · 07/08/2014 21:22

Call him Albert, and go with Albie as a nickname if you must

Mumof3xox · 07/08/2014 21:23

Reminds me of supermarket zoo.... And the dinosaur one

ImperialBlether · 07/08/2014 21:24

Sorry, no. I think you'll find Louis is the name you're looking for Grin

PieceOfTheMoon · 07/08/2014 21:24

I love it. DS loves the Albie books so that's probably why I like the name.

WienerDiva · 07/08/2014 21:26

I love it. I only have a dd but I wanted Albie for a boy (short for Albus, don't judge me, I love HP). Go for it!

CorporateRockWhore · 07/08/2014 21:30

I really like Alban. I guess you could use Albie for a nickname, if you really had to...Grin

SweetPeaPods · 07/08/2014 21:31

See I don't like Albert. That may be why I'm not sure. I've never met one think that might be why I like it. Just wasn't sure if it was too babyish.

Reminds me of flight of the conchords (realise this may be quite specific!).

I don't think it is a name in it's own right, just a nickname for Albert.

Dovahkiin · 07/08/2014 22:38

I used to work with an Alberic, known as Albie.

mathanxiety · 07/08/2014 22:45

There's Ailbe (pronounced ALE-bee) an Irish name...

Alberic and Alban are nice.

Albie just sounds as if you're trying to be more unique than the ubiquitous Alfie.

Sophronia · 07/08/2014 23:32

I prefer it as a nickname for Albert. There's also Albin, Alban, Alberic or Albus.

MsJupiter · 08/08/2014 23:06

What about Albion for a touch of patriotism?

nevergoogle · 08/08/2014 23:12

Alberto!

Gingerjv · 09/08/2014 15:40

I think of this name only as of nickname

WowserBowser · 09/08/2014 18:01

Too cutesy for my taste. It also jumps on the Charlie/Alfie bandwagon.

Montsti · 10/08/2014 13:37

Not keen but love Bertie so I would go for Albert nn.Bertie.

IfUSeekAmy · 10/08/2014 21:30

DD2 would have been Alby if she was a boy so it gets my vote.

hoobypickypicky · 10/08/2014 21:32

I love it as a name in its own right (I don't "do" nicknames). I love Albert too.

Chimchar · 10/08/2014 21:35

I love it as a shortened name (LOVE Albus!!)

It's the name of rufus hounds little boy.

rachel234 · 11/08/2014 06:50

Not keen on Alfie/Albie/Archie names, too cutesy and will probably sound dated soon.

I do like the full name Albert though (but not Alfred or Archibald).

applecharlotte · 11/08/2014 06:57

I have an Albie, he's 3.5yo and I love his name. Get lots of compliments too. He has been mistaken for Alfie a couple of times but can't say it bothers us.

CPtart · 11/08/2014 07:25

Dislike.
Another ie ending name that sounds like an abbreviation.
