Asa or Arlo?

Thought I had decided, but I'm second guessing myself again Hmm

To go with ds Eli.

I know that Asa is used as a girls name in Sweden (well think its Sweden Blush ) This does NOT BOTHER us at all, as far as we are concerned its an Old Testament biblical boys name Grin

I know some people think Arlo is of the moment this does NOT BOTHER us either, we are in Ireland and its unheard of here really.

So please don't let either of these things sway you either way Wink

Girls name is sorted, she will be Jemima.

Asa.

SweepTheHalls · 05/08/2014 19:34

Arlo!

DitzyDonkey · 05/08/2014 19:35

Yes me again and I still disagree, I think both names sound lovely with Eli, hence me still mulling over the names Wink

247 doesn't scream popular at all, but those were the 2012 stats; it will be in the top 100 in the 2015 I predict. GREAT name though!

MrsBungle · 05/08/2014 19:41

Arlo.

dottyaboutstripes · 05/08/2014 19:44

I like both! I have one if those but the other was on a list too Grin

WowserBowser · 05/08/2014 20:12

I've been on your other threads.

I have an Arlo and Eli is a favourite of mine.

I might go for Asa as a lot of people think Arlo is popular. Although it's not round here.

Marnierose · 05/08/2014 20:27

Arlo is the new Oscar! I still love both names

nooka · 06/08/2014 06:41

I think I'd pick Asa over Arlo, however if you are still in two minds maybe it's one of those meet the baby and see what suits times?

anotherdayanothersquabble · 06/08/2014 06:54

Asa is a character in the pre teens fantasy school adventure series Charlie Bone. He is a ware wolf who is a meanie to start with and then turns good.

You live in Ireland, you know there are a million ways to pronounce names depending on where you come from!!

VeraGrant · 06/08/2014 12:24

Love Arlo

Am not a fan of boys' names ending in 'a' but that's just me!

squoosh · 06/08/2014 15:00

I bet people will mishear and think you've called him Carlow.

And mutter to themselves 'of all the counties, why would you pick Carlow?' Wink

DitzyDonkey · 06/08/2014 15:40

Ha squoosh I had thought of that, but one of my colleagues is from Carlow and when I said we were considering Arlo said it was lovely and that Carlow wasn't the first thing to come to mind. She is brutally honest.

Though it is also one of my reservations about the name!

I like both names! But i think I vote for Asa. I love biblical names so much ;-)

DitzyDonkey · 06/08/2014 20:28

I think we may be leaning towards Asa. My ds has been begging us to use it if he gets a brother as he thinks Ace would be a brilliant nn Grin

I love Arlo. Lovely sounding, scrumptious name. I've been quite sure how to pronounce Asa... is it just as it's written?

Julius02 · 06/08/2014 20:33

Asa - love it....

DitzyDonkey · 06/08/2014 20:37

Birdifthenorth its pronounced Ace ah

friedeggs · 20/08/2014 13:13

Coincidence - my little boy is called Arlo, if we'd ever had a brother for him we were going to call him Asa

good choices

ps everyone I know loves Arlo's name and he's grown to really suit it

Cheeky76890 · 20/08/2014 19:38

Or just Ace

Ivo is nice also

DitzyDonkey · 20/08/2014 19:52

Just saw that this thread is activ again, so I thought I would let you all know that we found out we are having a little girl! But she will not be Jemima as I said in my first post, she will be Luna!

I will save all the boys names for next time. Thanks for your comments.
