Twin brother for Rosalie - Theo or Rowan?

I have an Annabelle, a Dominic and a set of boy/girl twins. The girl is called Rosalie but we have been stuck on what to call her twin brother. We have it narrowed down to Theo or Rowan? What do you think?

Both lovely names, but Rosalie and Rowan have the potential to be abbreviated to Ro. For that reason Theo.

Kantha · 31/07/2014 08:06

Theo.

I think I would get in a muddle trying call out Rosalie and Rowan.

Theo; agree with pp who said that two 'Ro' names might get confusing. Otherwise I would have probably plumped for Rowan.

hlc123 · 31/07/2014 10:57

I like both but agree with the other comments, Theo is probably the best option

BackforGood · 31/07/2014 11:15

Avoid both of them starting with 'Ro'.
So that leaves you with Theo.

badtime · 31/07/2014 11:35

Theo.

I really dislike matching twin names.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 31/07/2014 11:39

I really love the name Rowan, but wouldn't use it with Rosalie.

TodaysNotAGoodDay · 31/07/2014 11:40

Theo and Rosalie sounds much better than Rowan and Rosalie

Leeds2 · 31/07/2014 11:58

Another vote for Theo here. I love Rowan, but to me it is a girls' name (although I know it is used for boys!).

KoalaDownUnder · 31/07/2014 12:07

Theo!

Rowan is too matchy with Rosalie.

NewtRipley · 31/07/2014 13:59

I think I different initial would be very sensible, and I like Theo

Sophronia · 31/07/2014 14:54

Theo, but I prefer it as a nickname for Theodore.

burgatroyd · 31/07/2014 17:02

Theo

Bowlersarm · 31/07/2014 17:11

Theo definitely.

Not Ro Ro

Castlemilk · 31/07/2014 18:42

Matching twin initials are beyond awful.

Also, Rowan is unisex, and the matchiness with Rosalie would REALLY make people assume cutesy girl twins.

So Theo! - which is a great name and much nicer than Rowan for a boy.

Thank you everyone. We are really struggling with this final name! Any other suggestions you have that you think go with the sibling set (and the twin set) are welcome. Although I love the name Rowan and much prefer it, Rosalie is now non-negotiable, and so I think I have to agree with you all and it will remain a middle name.

Theodore Rowan sounds like a good name, and Theo and Rosalie work together. I prefer Rosalind or Rosamund, but I like long formal names :)
