Alba Rose - girls name- your thoughts

Ok so previously I had posted on Sorrel Bea as a little girls name and had some really useful feedback. Since then my husband has said he isn't keen.

He likes Alba Rose- any thoughts?

I also like Thistle

Alba and Thistle, quite the Scottish theme there.

Anyway, no, no, NO to Thistle. It's a bit spikey. Alba reminds me of cheap electrical goods.

Sorrel is so much better than both of these other two options.

I like Rose not keen on Alba just not my kind of name but not horrible just no where near as nice as Rose

A child in one of the Brother Cadfael books is called Rosalba, which I think sounds nicer.

I also know a girl called Thistlerose (though she now calls herself just Thistle) I really like it, though maybe that's because the girl herself is lovely.

I really like both Alba and rose. It doesn't remind me of cheap electrical goods - just Time Traveller's Wife, the Scots word for Scotland, and Latin for 'white'.

Rose is a very popular middle name now but I don't suppose it matters much.

It's nice.

Alba sounds and looks really ugly to me.

Alba just makes me think Jessica Alba.

I like Alba, didn't think of electrical goods until someone pointed it out. Not keen on thistle. Rose is a lovely middle name, goes perfectly with either.

Alba I don't like, really. Lots of people will associate with the electrical company or with Jessica Alba. Alba Rose together is pretty twee. And alone, it just isn't a very attractive word. And Rose as a middle name is so popular that it has lost all meaning, lovely though it is.

Please do not name your daughter Thistle. It isn't pretty at all.

Alba Rose is the name of a jewellery store.
They are lovely names but I wouldn't name a son Mark Spencer for the same reason!

How about Thisbe? Genuine name and has the thistle sound.
I like Alberta.
Other names you might like... Hyacinth, Wisteria (wish nn) Vera?

I did see that it is a jewellery shop when I googled it. But I don't really care about that.

Rose is just so pretty it's a shame it's now so over used but I do love it as a middle name.

She is due really soon and I am still none the wiser for a name. I thought 9 months would be long enough to decide!

Thistlerose is a little odd, IMO! How about Thisalee, like Thisalee crow from world of Warcraft?

Please beware of Thistle (thinks of many children I have known with a lisp)
