Which do you prefer. We are genuinely on the fence and don't want to ask people in real life as we want to keep it a surprise.

Beatrice or Beatrix?

I prefer Beatrice

burgatroyd · 10/07/2014 14:04

Beatrice. More sophisticated. Don't like nn Trixie

HattyMonkey · 10/07/2014 14:21

Beatrice

DitzyDonkey · 10/07/2014 14:22

Beatrix

Sophronia · 10/07/2014 14:24

Beatrice, like burgatroyd said, Beatrix could get the nickname Trixie, which I don't like.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 10/07/2014 14:47

Well I love both and Beatrix is a little more unusual but

(i) can you stand people saying Potter immediately after Beatrix,
(ii) Beatrix wouldn't automatically be shortened to Trixie but how do you feel about that?

squoosh · 10/07/2014 15:09

Beatrix.

Beatrice is a bit stuffy.

Superrhan · 10/07/2014 17:39

Beatrice.

I love it!

I do also love Beatrix, but not sure I could actually name a child that.

ButterflyOfFreedom · 10/07/2014 17:43

Beatrice.

For sure BeatriCE!!Love this name)

I don't mind Trixie as a nn. Although it does make me think of the phrase turning tricks. Hmm I like the posher side of Beatrice as much as I like the quirky side or Beatrix.

Beatrice

Alisvolatpropiis · 10/07/2014 23:09

I just hear beer tricks re Beatrix. Which is a shame because I think Trixie is a great nickname.

So...Beatrice gets my vote.

Only1scoop · 10/07/2014 23:10

Beatrix
