Anneka, Annika, Anika, Annie for short

My hubby likes old and cute names like Annie, Tilly, Maisie etc. I like strong or boyish (and slightly more unusual) names for a girl like Indie, Noa. We have come up with Annika, nn Annie. I'm comfortable enough that Annika is unusual and strong but what do you think? Also, which spelling for Annika do you like best?

Love it! Really unusual. I prefer the Anika spelling tbh....i would avoid Anneka as it reminds me of Anneka Rice, who was on telly in the 80s?

But spelled Anika it's lovely!

I used to teach a girl who had Danish parents - she was called Malika which I thought was lovely, and in a similar style...

Annie is imo a nicer nn by a long shot than the rest of the -ie names (Maisie, Tillie, Millie, Elsie).

Annika is a truly global name with origins in several cultures including Scandinavian, Jewish & the Indian subcontinent. It also has several meanings, one being grace and favour which is lovely.

Anika is great. There's also Anoushka. Anika is the type of name said in full though. You may not use Annie in the end.
