No. Curtis is fine.

ilovelamp82 · 03/07/2014 15:35

I love it. Against the trend but with the K.

DrFunkesFamilyBandSolution · 03/07/2014 15:40

Cfc is Chelsea football club just incase you're an Arsenal household!

Like Curtis, not kurtis

Choccyhobnob · 03/07/2014 17:18

Total geek here but CFC (chlorofluorocarbons) are the components in some aerosols which contribute to damage of the ozone layer, heard about them a lot at school (but think in the last 20 years most companies have gone CFC free) BUT I don't think that will be the first thing people associate with your child's initials!

As an Arsenal fan the Chelsea link would totally rule it out for me though Wink

MrsBungle · 03/07/2014 17:23

I don't mind Curtis. Sounds very American up my ear.

mygrandchildrenrock · 03/07/2014 17:24

My very old husband has Curtis as his middle name and he is Scottish! I love it and wanted to call one of ours it but husband vetoed it!

bac1985 · 03/07/2014 19:26

I like Kurt Frederick Coughlin. The initials KFC shouldn't be too bad.

Curtis and Kurt are two different names. Kurt Frederick Coughlin or Curtis Frederick Coughlin would be better, I would try to avoid the KFC initials though!

SignYourName · 04/07/2014 06:09

Realistically, how often is he going to be known by his initials or include his middle initial unless he later chooses to?

Worst case scenario, he ends up with some weird nickname that bears no resemblance to his real name, like half the teenagers and young men I know. In 20 years' time someone at university will say "how come you're known as Ken / Sandy / whatever when your name is Kurt?" and he'll say "my initials are KFC, it developed from Kentucky / Colonel Sanders / whatever when I was at school" and the conversation will move on.

The initials KFC shouldn't be too bad.

Shock

They will, they will!!!!

bac1985 · 04/07/2014 09:06

Would a second middle name help?

OP posts:
Fideliney · 04/07/2014 10:08

I would. Kids do notice these things sooner or later (the class bullies, I mean).

bac1985 · 04/07/2014 13:03

Kurt Frederick George Coughlin
