So this is our top 5 so far (in no particular order):

Lavinia
Aurelia
Beatrix
Eliza
Delilah

We wanted something a bit more unique but these were also in the mix....Lucy, Elsie and Rosalie. Our surname is Phillips if that helps. We've had nearly 20 weeks knowing its a girl and cannot make our minds up! I think we'd like a top 3 going into it and will decide when we meet her. Any thoughts, suggestions, etc welcome! :)

Thank u!

I like Eliza and Rosalie.

I'm really not keen on Lavinia. It makes me think of old ladies and that really wet character from Downton Abbey.

olaflikeswarmhugs · 29/06/2014 16:33

Lavinia makes me think of the weird Capitol names in The Hunger Games .

My favourite out you list is Aurelia

olaflikeswarmhugs · 29/06/2014 16:34

Evangeline ?

VerucaInTheNutRoom · 29/06/2014 16:34

I love Evangeline, it was on our short list for DD.

burgatroyd · 29/06/2014 16:44

But she'd just get called Evie, wouldn't she? If you like the jeli sound how about anjali?

Lavinia, lav. Not nice.
Aurelia a bit of a mouthful.
Beatrix, OK.
Eliza, OK
Delilah, really nice.

How about Lucia or Rosalina?

marmitelover · 29/06/2014 16:47

Don't like Lavinia or Aurelie at all. Delilah I do like, but everyone of a certain age is bound to burst into song with 'why, why, why, Delilah ...'

AP618 · 29/06/2014 16:51

Our good friends have just named their little one Evangeline, lovely but not for us. We did consider Lucia (still like this). How would you pronounce it? Lu-see-a? Like the island or Lu che a? We thought Lu-see-a but my hubby thought it was like the island St Lucia! Never heard of it that way.

I know a Lucia and the family are Italian they pronounce it Lou-chee-a

AP618 · 29/06/2014 16:58

Scratch that, hubby's cousin has named their daughter Lucia and has the same surname so never mind! :/

I love Beatrix and Delilah they suit your other names well too :)

manicinsomniac · 29/06/2014 19:51

None of those names are really to my taste. I quite like Eliza and Aurelia is okay. Not keen on the others though.

It sounds like you like quite frilly, possibly European sounding, names. How about:

Arabella, Araminta, Anastasia, Ariadne, Arianna, Adrianna, Arianne, Alexandria, Angelica, Angelina, Aurora, Beatrice, Bianca, Carlotta, Carolina, Cassandra, Clarissa, Cordelia, Constance, Cornelia, Cecily, Cecilia, Claudia, Corinne, Desdemona, Eleanor, Eloisa, Erica, Elisaveta, Ekaterina, Francesca, Felicity, Florence, Fabia, Fenella, Fernanda, Felicia, Georgina, Georgiana, Giselle, Giovanna, Genevieve, Hermione, Helena, Hermia, Harmony, Isabella, Isadora, Isolde, Joanna, Julia, Juliette, Julianna, Katerina, Katherine, Lilianna, Lucinda, Leona, Lorelai, Leandra, Larissa, Louisa, Laeticia, Madeleine, Miranda, Marianna, Natalia, Nadia, Olivia, Ophelia, Octavia, Ottilie, Pandora, Paloma, Peronelle, Philippa, Pietra, Rosanna, Rosalind, Reagan, Seraphina, Sophia, Saskia, Sylvia, Suzannah, Tabitha, Victoria, Vanessa, Veronica.

Nereida · 29/06/2014 23:21

I really like Lavinia actually. I like most of the others - not keen on Lucy or Rosalie.

olympicsrock · 29/06/2014 23:44

Aurelia is lovely. What about Beatrice instead of Beatrice? Don't like Eliza or Delilah much sorry as a bit hard sounding. Hate Lavinia.

olympicsrock · 29/06/2014 23:45

Ps Rosalie is lovely and Lucy nice although maybe not exciting.

DontPutMeDownForCardio · 30/06/2014 00:08

aurelia is gorgeous.

Floralnomad · 30/06/2014 00:21

Aurelia is lovely ,Lavinia is not . What about Mirella .

nooka · 30/06/2014 03:21

My wonderful godmother was called Lavinia, so I think that's the best :) She was mostly known as Vin. I don't like Aurelia at all. Delilah makes me think of Tom Jones. I quite like Beatrice but not Beatrix. Eliza is fine, but not I think very unusual.

Oriunda · 30/06/2014 07:02

Aurelia

BlueStarsAtNight · 30/06/2014 07:05

I like Lavinia tho the Lav part would probably put me off using it myself. I like Beatrix but much prefer Beatrice.
Aurelia is nice if you have some sort of French/European connection, otherwise I'd find it a bit strange. Delilah I'm not keen on. Eliza is nice. I also love Lucy tho it's a lot 'safer' than your other choices.

bouquetofpencils · 30/06/2014 23:19

I do like Lavinia. Very American retro. However it is ripe for teasing at school due to the lav bit.
Delilah is my favourite. How about Delphine?

Allalonenow · 30/06/2014 23:32

I like Lavinia and Aurelia from your list, not keen on Delilah or Eliza.

From the suggestions, I really like Delphine, or how about Leticia?

Aprilray · 01/07/2014 14:04

I like all of your names expect Lavinia.
I really love Delilah nn Lila and also Beatrix, both beautiful names.

squoosh · 01/07/2014 14:43

I like Delilah but worry I'd be submitting them to a lifetime of having that song sung at them.

Rhubarbgarden · 01/07/2014 15:24

Eliza. The others are too fussy for me, with the exception of Lucy which is just a bit dull.

Stokey · 01/07/2014 15:37

If you are looking for something unique, I would disregard Eliza, Elsie, Lucy and Beatrix. They re a bit more popular than your other choices.

I like Lavinia, Delilah and Aurelia in that order.
