Boys names

We found out were having a boy yesterday :D

Only problem is that while we had our perfect girls name, we can't find a boys name were both 100% on.

We both like Max(imus) but I don't want to settle... and wish there was something a little more perfect out there.

We're extremely picky as a couple so I apologise if we hate all suggestions!

Our list consists of:

Max(imus)
Michael (only as it's a family name, I'm not that keen)
John (my dad's name but dps only cousins name so might be a bit weird)
Cohen (Terry prachett fans)
Jared

Currently I'm really Into Abel (we're watching sons of anarchy atm), it's been gradually growing on me, but dp says he's not keen.

In my case it was Yvonne I wanted to use. The suggestion on here was Eve. I've broken my no biblical names for it because it's growing on me so much and I was surprised dh likes it but it turned out it was the y sound he had the problem with. But it wouldn't have crossed my mind as an option without asking the question here! And we've got a compromise.

Don't worry about what people think. I had issues with family they got far too involved!

Yes ask him about axel if you both like it use it. I feel like a hypocrite saying that as I tried so hard to please family but I'm over that now!

Re: Jax

Jax (short for Jaxon) seems to be gaining popularity in the US. I immediately thought of cleaning products when I saw Ajax, then the football club. However, one day in ten years time we might wake up and see Ajax having become the next Jason.

its not fair I want Abel John. I do like Maximus John though and dsd is set on Max... I we'll see!

I like how Axel John sounds! I think Axel is a nice compromise of Abel and Max as well.

As you like x/z sounds, how about Xander, Xavier or Enzo (an Italian shortening of Lorenzo, but a name in its own right).

I know a family with two of the names on your shortlist (Max and John). Their third boy is Kim - what do you think? If not, I think Kit, Blake and Ivo have a similar vibe.
