Love the name, hate the nickname!

Our girls name choice is Noelle (after my grandad Noel). I love love love the name but hate that it might be shortened to Elle/Ellie. No offence to anyone that loves these names, it's just not to my taste.
Would hating a nickname put you off the whole name completely?

Nola is my favourite

I have a similar problem but with dd2's name which is like Eloise or Elodie. I didn't think about the whole Ellie nickname!!!!!
