Due any day, but still not really got any boys names I love. Sibling is Felix.

We have a v common surname , so need a first name that is a little bit different (DH and his brother both had top ten names and both had other boys in their year with exactly the same first and last name as them, so keen to avoid this!).

Open to any more ideas ,but also how would you rate these names?

Theodore (Ted)
Henry
Marcus
Rory

Thank you!

Love Marcus

MrsOB · 09/06/2014 22:13

Love Henry

Nereida · 09/06/2014 22:36

I like Theodore and Henry, dislike the other two.

helensburgh · 09/06/2014 22:38

Rory

muttonjeffmum · 09/06/2014 22:38

Love Rory and Ted. I have a lovely Rory and a fab Uncle Ted.

BlueStarsAtNight · 09/06/2014 23:05

I love Henry and Rory. Though Rory with Felix just sounds a little bit too animal/lion/cat-ish I think.........

Marcus and Theodore are both ok, and I think Marcus is the most unusual.

Bowlersarm · 09/06/2014 23:07

Rory!

Ted and Henry are fine.

Dislike Marcus

TheCharWoman · 10/06/2014 07:58

Hmm, not much consensus! Any other votes/ideas?

I like Marcus and Rory. How about Conrad, Laurence or Alasdair?

MrsBungle · 10/06/2014 12:27

Theodore is by far the best from your list IMO.

IWillYeah · 10/06/2014 12:27

I like Theodore/Theo best.

OldCatLady · 10/06/2014 12:30

What about nico? As in nee-co? I think it's cute with Felix

maggiethemagpie · 10/06/2014 12:41

Love Marcus, Ted and Rory. Actually not so sure about Marcus. But Ted and Rory are my faves!

maggiethemagpie · 10/06/2014 12:42

What do you think of the name Faye? Is it a winner or a loser? It seems to be one of those names which is always around, never in the top 20 but never desperately out of fashion either.

maggiethemagpie · 10/06/2014 12:42

oops sorry, meant to post that as a new post! baby brain!

petitdonkey · 10/06/2014 12:46

Theodore (Ted) - lovely name but hardly uncommon. (also you might have to accept Theo so you have to like that too)
Henry - gorgeous name but again, not uncommon if that's what you want
Marcus - Lovely - my favourite on your list
Rory - ditto Henry

My personal favourite is Catlady's suggestion of Nico - Very cool!

petitdonkey · 10/06/2014 12:47

Maggie - my friend has a 5yr old Faye and says she's never met another. I was surprised by it when she named her but now think it is really beautiful. Classic but uncommon was her mantra on baby naming, Eliza is another that I think fulfils that brief.

Montsti · 10/06/2014 12:50

I like Henry and Edward (Ted/Teddy) - not keen on Theodore and really don't like Marcus nor Rory.

Montsti · 10/06/2014 12:53

One of my reasons for not liking Theo/Thea/Theodore is that all I can hear in my head are people pronouncing it as Feo/Fea/Feodore which would irritate me...as you have a Felix already this might make this more likely as if you say, Felix it is easier to say Feodore rather than Theodore.

Maybe I'm overthinking it - lol

ashesandfire · 10/06/2014 14:46

Marcus has always seemed a bit of a 'wet' name to me. Not keen on Rory.
Theodore - meh.
Love Henry.

PandaBear30 · 10/06/2014 15:27

Least favourite is Marcus, also think it's the one that works least well with Felix.

I'm going to be pretty unhelpful and say that I think all of your name choices are great. And Nico is too. (And Felix is one of my favourites!) I thought that Henry is quite popular though? I have a Ted (Edward), so am probably slightly biased towards that.

shatteredmum1 · 11/06/2014 22:51

Cosmo is a great name for a boy.

Alita7 · 11/06/2014 22:57

From your list Rory.

Alita7 · 11/06/2014 22:59

and I love fae but only without a y. The y makes me think of old ladies but the fae spelling makes me think of little fairies :)
