I was going to shorten the name to Bella (have considered Izzy) and my surname was Kelly?

Does it sound silly?

Ps I have no idea if I'm having a boy or girl!

green you are right! I think Bella Kelly is very rhyme-y, but I do love Isobel and think it works fine with our surname.

It's fine - although I think most Bella's are Isobella. I know a couple of Isobel's and they are shortened to Izzy.
