Roman/Rowan
Thomas
Henry
Zachary
Theodore
Dominic
Jude
Joshua
Arthur

These are the ones we both like, some of them I'm not massively keen on like Joshua, Arthur and Thomas are more of DPs choice. My favourites are Dominic, Jude, Zachary and Theodore.

Firstly, which one do you prefer? What else might I like?

Our surname is Lee, so what middle names would go well with each one? I quite like hippyish names but nothing too extreme as DP will hate it!

Arthur Smile

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 31/05/2014 20:49

I like Jude, but Jude Lee doesn't work terribly well imho.

My favourite name on the list is Rowan and the only one I really don't like is Henry.

VerucaInTheNutRoom · 31/05/2014 20:50

Row is lovely. I like most of your list.

VerucaInTheNutRoom · 31/05/2014 20:51

*Rowan

Indigoviolet3 · 31/05/2014 20:54

Henry Lee is a macabre song by Nick Cave! I like Arthur :)

calzone · 31/05/2014 20:54

I think Lee is a tricky surname as it could become an adverb!

Zach Lee
Theo Lee
Josh Lee

Mmmmm......

Jonathan
Benjamin
Sebastian
Dominic but Dom Lee does not work for me.

RoseberryTopping · 31/05/2014 20:57

It's a terrible surname isn't it! That's why I really feel most names need a middle name to balance it out, we do actually use the middle name of DS as well so it's not a pointless thing iykwim.

Not Thomas.

I like Jude and Theodore Smile

scarletforya · 31/05/2014 20:59

I prefer Rowan or Zachary.

BellaVida · 31/05/2014 21:04

I like Theodore, Rowan and Arthur. Any combination of those would be lovely and balance out your surname.

Mynewone · 31/05/2014 21:05

Henry

BikeRunSki · 31/05/2014 21:07

I love Rowan
Dislike Zachary (and there's lots about at the moment)
Quite like Dominic, but nn Nick rather than Dom
Pretty ambivalent about the rest

BikeRunSki · 31/05/2014 21:13

I'd pair Rowan with something a lot more mainstream, Oliver or James maybe.

Rowan Oliver Lee sounds nice.

devoncreamtea · 31/05/2014 21:13

I like Rowan best.

rideyourbike · 31/05/2014 21:17

Rowan is good but I like it as a girls name! Roman is lovely!

calzone · 31/05/2014 22:12

Rowanlee sounds like an adverb to me!

David
Ryan
Matthew

Viatrix · 31/05/2014 23:31

Thomas Lee is too Tommy Lee.

My favourites are Henry, Dominic and Arthur.

Nessalina · 31/05/2014 23:37

We have very similar short lists!
Zachary, Dominic, & Theodore are in my top 5. If I knew which I liked best I'd be a happy bunny Wink
Theodore probably goes best with Lee?
The other two in my top 5 which you may well like are Diggory & Nicholas.

DogCalledRudis · 01/06/2014 08:40

With a surname Lee, i'd suggest Robert

merlehaggard · 01/06/2014 09:16

I've got a Gabriel/Gabe. My daughter has a friend called Arthur and I think it's v sweet. From your list I like Theodore best. It's a name I would def choose myself - although I've now had my last. I did consider Zachary/Zach for one of mine (who turned out to be a girl) though and still like it and quite like Dominic/Dom.

Fizzyplonk · 01/06/2014 09:31

Roman/Rowan -love Rowan
Thomas- like
Henry- ok
Zachary - ok
Theodore - ok
Dominic - don't like
Jude - love
Joshua- don't like
Arthur- love

What about:-
Heath
Ralph/Rafe
Toby
Louis
Elijah

Fizzyplonk · 01/06/2014 09:31

Forget Louis with Lee

RoseberryTopping · 01/06/2014 16:49

Thanks everyone. I do feel it's really tricky with the surname, can't decide whether to just ignore the adverb problem and go for one of the names I like more, or choose something I don't like quite as much because it doesn't sound like an adverb.

Hadn't thought of Heath but I do quite like that, again not sure how Heath Lee would flow. A lot of the other names suggested have been used by those close to us.

Rowan Oliver Lee is lovely :)

Any other thoughts on middle names?
