Is this weird? We have chosen a first name and Elliott goes perfectly with it. But I don't know if it's only for boys...

I think it's lovely. What is your 1st name?

Lovely Smile

To me it's definitely a boy's name but I think that doesn't matter for middle names. Some people will probably assume it's a family surname (like your maiden name or something like that) that you've used as a MN.

I'm not saying the first name in case I get a barrage of dislikes! It's two syllables and ends in a -y. Our surname is one syllable.
So glad you think Elliott is a possibility !

Elliott in the UK is traditionally a boys name but in America it's often a girl's name. I love the name Elliott so I say go for it :)

I have heard of a few little girls in America called Elliott.

I quite like it for a girl.

I like it for a girl too

It's brilliant - like in Scrubs.

TessOfTheFurbyvilles · 29/05/2014 19:21

It is a boy's name, but as it's only the middle name spot, it doesn't matter as much I guess.

Elliot in Scrubs was named such, as her parents wanted a boy, she said this in one of the earliest episodes, therefore the show alluded to the fact that Elliott is indeed a boy's name!

I like it more as a girls name than a boys

bubblegun · 29/05/2014 19:24

Is the first name Billy?

Sticking it in the middle is a very good solution for a transferred surname (which is very much a boys name when used as first name, eg in ET) if you want to use it on a girl.
