Miranda is pretty. Hermione - I love it as a book name, love winters tale - but I know one, she is sweet, but NO-ONE including teachers/ doc receptionists etc can pronounce it properly. I reckon that would get annoying.

Marietta (Etty)
Harriet
Miriam
Genevieve
Francesca
Penelope

Both names contain the letters m, n, i and r so on that basis I would suggest other names which have those letters in them:

Marnie

Marianne

Erin

Mia

Nia

Imogen

Romilly

Merrin

Megan

Romana

India

Minnie

Ramona

Monica

Nina

Mona

thanks for these we already have an Arabella and Tabitha and juliet is one dd's mn
cassandra and cordelia and genevieve have been vetoed by dh. as has ophelia .
we econsidered josephine but dislike nns jo /josie but do like sephy or posy
minerva is lovely but it's the name of the chip shop across the road from dc's school so has been discounted
i like althea but dh less keen
merryn and romilly have also been considered like them but not 100% convinced
i thought of xanthe yesterday and really like it but miss X surname puts me off . also could pronounciation be an issue
i like henrietta and harriet but i think dh would need convincing.i think i prefer henrietta marginally.
i like marietta but i'm irish and marietta was biscuit variety so that would stop me using it
sorry ,i know i'm very fussy

Letitia?

Henrietta is exactly what I thought of, Minette as a NN. Goes perfectly with your other DDs (although to be fair they are unlikely to care whether their names match when they're older).

AgathaPinchBottom · 16/05/2014 18:15

Agnes, Lucinda, Lydia, Thomasina, Rosalind

oldbutnotpastit · 16/05/2014 18:45

we have a lydia and a rosalind

jemima i love but we have a dniece with the name

cecilia i love but dh can't get past the song and another dd has cecily as a mn

miriam has also been on the long list but i've gone off it

Christabel
Catriona
Anastatia
Vera
Verona

oldbutnotpastit · 16/05/2014 22:17

love persephone but really dislike its meaning

esther and hester are beautiful but don't work with our surname

mariella but went to school with one who was an awful bully and made my life hell , so would be reluctant to use it

clara is nice but maybe becoming to popular . we have considered clarissa but dh thinks it is too hissy
anastasia i used to like but shades of grey has ruined it for me
matilda i like but dh feels it's too masculine
vera is lovely i'm adding that to the list along with henrietta
is christabel to similar to arabella ? as we've ignored christabel and mirabel because we already have an arabella
