What do you all think of the name Dexter?

My very cute baby nephew is called Dexter. It wasn't a name I had really heard used before, though have heard of a few more sine last summer.

Both me and Dh immediately thought of Press Gang.

Dexter was the male lead in the book/film 'One Day.' I love the name

Isn't Dexter Fletcher the name of an actor? I'm sure he's real?

Immediately think 'serial killer'. But doesn't 'dexter' also mean 'left handed'?

It can mean "on the right hand side" in Archaic Latin.

It's more of a nerdy name in the states, sort of like Eugene.

That's interesting Ludways! Kind of like the way Trevor is considered an ordinary name in America whereas here it's complete geeksville.

I like it very much. I know a 22 year old Dexter.

Oh, and I'm much more likely to associate the name with Dexter's Laboratory than serial killers.
