That's it really. DS3 was born yesterday and these are our last 2 names. (One mine one DH's). To go with Joshua and Tobias.

I go for Alexander as I have one who answers to Sandy.

Suzietwo · 06/05/2014 20:46

Sebastian for sure. But I prefer Alec to seb

Mrsindecision · 06/05/2014 21:33

My preference is for Sebastian. Many congratulations on your lovely newborn - I bet he's scrummy! Grin

evamummy · 07/05/2014 08:37

They are both nice names in their long form.

However, they're long and probably shortened and Seb, Sebby, Basty are really not nice! Alex is better but a very unisex name.

RadioFourNotRadioSnore · 07/05/2014 09:50

Sebastian is gorgeous, Alexander a bit too ordinary in comparison.

SnakeyMcBadass · 07/05/2014 09:59

Love them both. Alexander has more NN potential, but I prefer Sebastian in long form.

CarriMarie · 07/05/2014 10:38

I think Sebastian fits best with your other names.

squoosh · 07/05/2014 10:41

Definitely Sebastian.

Alexander sounds very smug. Alex is fine but I strongly dislike Xander and Lysander. Awful.

DramaAlpaca · 07/05/2014 10:46

I think Sebastian just edges it for me as it goes best with your other two names.

Congratulations from another member of the three boys club Grin Flowers

Jumblebee · 07/05/2014 10:50

Alexander, always loved that name Smile

AdeptusMechanicus · 07/05/2014 10:52

Alexander

TessOfTheFurbyvilles · 07/05/2014 11:42

Another vote for Alexander, but I'm biased, as I have one. He goes by Lex.

DalekInAFestiveJumper · 07/05/2014 12:00

Another vote for Alexander!

Swisskissingisbetterthenfrench · 07/05/2014 18:24

Both are nice. Sebastian has the edge though

Swisskissingisbetterthenfrench · 07/05/2014 18:24

Although lex is a cool nickname

Salazar · 08/05/2014 01:23

Yeah I agree, Lex is very cool.

pinkandsparklytoo · 08/05/2014 01:46

Thanks everyone. Did I mention that Alexander was my top name every time and DH always said no? Then this time he was starting to come round until after the birth. Sebastian was on my shortlist too but was not top. We asked the DS's and got one vote for each name so not any easier. We could compromise and use both but then we would disagree over the order Grin

Alexander.

It's the best boys name EVER.

evamummy · 08/05/2014 07:06

If you're dh isn't keen on either, what names does he like? Would be nice to find a name you both love!

pinkandsparklytoo · 09/05/2014 18:16

Sebastian is DHs choice. DS2 wants to call him Bonfire Smile

Leeds2 · 09/05/2014 22:36

Alexander.

funnyoldonion · 10/05/2014 20:52

Love Sebastian so much x

TheHorseHasBolted · 11/05/2014 10:58

I would go for Alexander because:

  1. it happens to be one of my favourite names ever (but I didn't want to use it because it was too similar to a close family member's name)
  1. it has lots of cool shortenings
  1. I think it goes slightly better with the names you have used already. (Out of interest, do you ever shorten them?) Sebastian has always sounded a bit upper-class to me, it would go better with brothers called something like Rupert and Charles!
pinkandsparklytoo · 15/05/2014 13:35

Still undecided, poor baby. The other two get shortened to Josh and Toby.

I thought they might - and I think Alexander/Alex would work well with those.
