like Edward but not Edward!

I'm posting for my sister, they like Edward but not the nn that go. They prefer traditional, not bothered by popularity necessarily as they want a name they like. They like James and George but can't have. They also like Athol, Alistair, Matthew, Andrew....you get the idea?

How did Athol get into their list of bog-standard names? I'm intrigued!

Lol lancelottie. Half scottish and I did say they liked traditional They sort of want a bit different but I think a bit nervous of it! So thought id put it in a see what came up!
I like Dominic and my sister loves Frank but I think BIL has vetoed!

Flora I love Gregor but they don't

If they like Athol they might also like Blair (Scottish joke).

The go with Edward just teach child his name is Edward . My dd has a name that people try to shorten or mispronounce. She's very clear to people who get it wrong.< looking at you grandad>
