Hi I'm expecting dc3 I'm only 11 weeks so we have plenty of time but I think we're going to need it.
We have a horrible surname that starts and ends with s so most s names are out. For a boy we like Isaac but we are totally stuck for a girls name.
I love Elsie and Betsy but dp isn't keen and I'm not sure if they go with our surname. Dp likes Elizabeth but I think Aidan, Molly and Elizabeth doesn't really go.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Any particular type of name you like or don't like? (Eg endings, first letters to avoid, traditional/cute/unusual etc)

Bowlersarm · 25/04/2014 15:52

Lucy

Libby

Oh I quite like libby. There's no types of names I'd like to avoid although I don't think we're the type of family that could pull off a really out there name.

Libby is traditionally short for Elizabeth. So if your dh likes Elizabeth, you like Libby, you could have Elizabeth nn Libby. (That would have been DS2...)

Or

Maddie
Chloe
Anna
Kitty

Here are some possibles:

Caroline
Rebecca/Becky
Naomi
Jennifer/Jenny
Catherine/Katie

Libby I agree is nice, and has the added benefit of being a shortened version of Elizabeth which your DP likes.

Cara, Anna, Lucy, Emma, Isobel, Alice.

You could go with Elizabeth & use Beth - Molly, Aidan & Beth?

MrsTamkin · 25/04/2014 20:25

Elsie also works as a nn to Elizabeth, which btw I think goes well with the others names, plus loads of possibilities for nns.
Molly Aidan Eliza
Molly Aidan Lizzie
Molly Aidan Libby
Molly Aidan Beth
Molly Aidan Bess

MrsTamkin · 25/04/2014 20:26

Betsy also nn for elizabeth...

Nestabee · 26/04/2014 11:27

Elisabeth with Libby as nn

DefiniteMaybe · 28/04/2014 18:27

Thanks everyone, I'm starting to think maybe we should have Elizabeth as I love nearly all the nns for it.
It just sounds a bit crap in our accent, I think Elizabeth needs to be said in a posh accent.

Bethany then?

mathanxiety · 29/04/2014 01:33

Molly and Lizzie would sound nice together imo.

Molly, Aidan and Emily
Molly, Aidan and Natalie
Molly Aidan and Jessica (Jessie)
Molly, Aidan and Caroline (Carrie)
Molly, Aidan and Abigail (Abby or Libby, at a stretch)
Molly, Aidan and Katherine (Katie or Kate)
Molly, Aidan and Olivia (can also be Libby, also Liv and Livy)
Molly, Aidan and Grace (Gracie)
Molly, Aidan and Josephine (Josie)
Molly, Aidan and Leonie
