Struggling to find names that suit all ages

For boys I like:

Wilf
Bertie

For girls I like:

Elsie
Sylvie

I think these are great names for children but not so much for teens or young adults. I also like:

Boys:

Flynn
Stanley
Thomas

Girls:

Anna
Alice
Beatrice
Florence
Flora
Tabitha

And think these are better for all ages. Do you think I'm over-thinking it?? Any you love/hate? Any suggestions of similar names I might like?

I can picture an adult Wilf or Sylvie very easily, but agree about Bertie and Elsie. I quite like most of your names, but not keen on Flynn or Tabitha. Beatrice is beautiful - definitely would be my choice!

Could you use Elsie as a short for Elizabeth?

Mireio · 26/03/2014 15:30

I agree with Empress that Elsie would be great as a nickname for Elizabeth. Sylvie is lovely. I like Wilf and Bertie, too, but I prefer them short for Wilfred and Albert.

I also like Thomas, Anna, Alice, Beatrice, Florence and Tabitha. :)

I like Elizabeth but am put off by the potential shortening to Liz.

I quite like Hubert - Bertie as a child, Hugh as an adult and Grandad Bert/Hubert when old Smile

I really like Anna and Alice with maybe Bea or Florence as a middle name but can't choose between them
