Please help, after 2 years of discussing baby names & now only having 19 more weeks to find 1...there are no boys names we want to use!!! Lots that are nice but none that we'd want for our son....

(You may think 19 weeks is along time but after 2years, it's no time at all)... Thanks

I hear you OP.

I'm 22 weeks and having a boy.

I can't find one single name I like. All boys names seem so boring Sad .

I had the best name picked out for a girl too. Harumph.

OhNoYouExpedidnt · 25/03/2014 14:51

Harumph is not a good name for a girl I'm afraid.

bunnysmummy · 25/03/2014 14:54

But I like Harumph for a boy

PipkinsPal · 25/03/2014 14:57

Sebastian, Dominic, Leon, Theo

TheBookofRuth · 25/03/2014 14:58

I know, me too. Had a list as long as my arm of potential girls names that I love, but we're expecting a boy and I can't find a single one I more than quite like. Apart from Barnaby, nn Barney, which DH has given a very firm no to.

Beanymonster · 25/03/2014 15:01

I think girls names have the potential to be more unique without being unknown.. Boys names are a LOT harder!

I like Ethan ATM, but it's not ideal for us, please don't flame me if your ds is called Ethan!

pinkandsparklytoo · 25/03/2014 15:24

I am having this same issue. 34 weeks with DS3 and I can't find anything I really like. I had a shortlist but now I just look at it and go meh.

Theonlyoneiknow · 25/03/2014 15:32

Have you looked at the ONS list of every boys name registered for last year, or any year? Must be something there!

Name i love today is Magnus

archshoes · 25/03/2014 15:37

Try a made up name? Or a historical one? Or a name local to the area type thing?

jennyl131 · 25/03/2014 15:38

boys names are really hard. We had a girl's name and boys name for dc 1 (girl)

had the same boys name and a favorite girls name for dc 2 (boy)

with dc 3 we had loads of girls names but were stumped for a boys name. Still not sure I love it but it'll have to do, it was the only one dh & I could agree on.

I liked Hamish, & Owen, dp didn't.

MinesAPintOfTea · 25/03/2014 15:43

Go down the ONS list. That's what we did, we found 3 of which 2 we couldn't use due to family etc.

Meggymoodle · 25/03/2014 15:50

Jotham.

I love love love this name and so wish we had used it for DS. Got as far as saying "Jotham" to the midwife and she said spelt like "Gotham city but with a J" yes but with a J - so nothing like it. Really was put off then but now wish we'd stuck with it. It is DS' middle name :(

Bornin1984 · 25/03/2014 15:52

Thanks to the mn massive who set me a short list dh and I finally agreed on Noah for our boy!!

We struggled with a boy
Too

ListenToTheLady · 25/03/2014 16:00

We couldn't find a boy's name we liked either, and we finally settled on something that isn't a name. I won't say what but you could look at lists of names of plants, famous people's surnames, animals, stars and planets, words from old languages, etc.

MummyBeerest · 25/03/2014 16:02

I actually found boy names easier! But I had a girl. Maybe that's why?

If DD were a boy, and only DH was going to name her, she'd have been Lucas, Liam or Logan. I liked these but also love:

Leo
Magnus
Felix
Alistair
Bennett

HalleLouja · 25/03/2014 16:04

Adam
Benjamin

Those are my faves in no particular order.
