Boys name to go with Jake (for twins)

Trying to think of names for twin boys - due in June. We didn't have a single boy's name agreed prior to my dd being born (even though we didn't know the sex in advance), so really struggling...

We've agreed on Jake for one and I'm keen to have another one-syllable name to go with it, e.g. Ben, but DH isn't keen (think he knows too many Bens).

I'd rather not have two Js or anything that almost rhymes (Nate?). Also, dd's name and our surname both start with an R and I think we need to avoid more alliteration.

Other than that, I'm open to suggestions!

Thanks in advance...

You're thinking along the same lines as me missspottydotty - but in a conversation earlier, DH said Seth reminded him of Emmerdale and I said Max reminded me of the fat one with the moustache from Guess Who (yes, the board game!) We are a collective nightmare!

Tom (although may be a little biased as I have one).

Boys names were always harder for us to agree on too - and we have two DSs. The only names we could agree on were short ones! (We have a Tom and a Jack).

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 23/03/2014 21:31

I would have to avoid Milo or Max - blame the Tweenies, sorry Grin.

Love Jake and Alex but we have a friend called Jacob (aka Jake) whose son is called Alex. It would be like a homage to their family! Great suggestions so far though - thank you! - will run some of them past DH (when he's in a good mood)...
