currently 5 months pg with #7.

if it's a girl we have a name combo sorted

if it's a boy we think Abraham would be nice and go with the names of our existing children who all have Biblical names.

so, yay or nay? Smile

Elijah

not all that keen on Abraham or Abe, sorry.

Dinosaursareextinct · 23/03/2014 19:34

Elijah is a very high up prophet. A bit presumptuous? I also don't think he'd live it down.

BrunoBrookesDinedAlone · 23/03/2014 19:36

It's nice! Def prefer Bram to Abe.

How about Jonathan?

ZingSweetCoconut · 23/03/2014 19:39

as I said we have lots of nephews with great names that we had to eliminate and I'm not looking for other suggestions at the moment.
sorry if that sounds rude, trust me it's a nightmare!

I just want a feel for Abraham.

Don't like Abe, and, sorry, but Zebedee sounds like a joke name to me.

Your other dc have lovely names and Abraham (not Abe though!) goes really well with them. Adam would too, but you don't like that, no?

Luke would be lovely too.
Or Asher, or Barnabas.

I absolutely love those three. ^^

I also like:
Benedict
David
Gideon
Simeon or Simon

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 23/03/2014 19:41

Crossed posts - but I have given some lovely suggestions! Grin

DavidHarewoodsFloozy · 23/03/2014 19:41

I love Abe, the one in our family got called Bam Bam!
Asa is great name too.

ZingSweetCoconut · 23/03/2014 19:44

oh, love the drinking song lil!

Oh Barnabas is fab. Barney!

Pregnantberry · 23/03/2014 19:53

Elijah?

I like Abraham, not Zebedee though sorry! I would assume it was a pet name if I saw someone calling their DS Zebedee.

ZingSweetCoconut · 23/03/2014 20:01

DD would've been Elijah - but as she is Elizabeth we don't want another E initial

so anything starting with J, S, M, N, I, E are out, plus a few more we can't have/won't have or clash with our surname.
or names we don't like
or have already used as second names

we have nephews called Barnabas, Daniel etc already.

sorry, but suggestions are just not helpful right now.
(I hope that doesn't make me sound like a dick)

I'm not sure about Abraham.
we might just have to call it Baby. or KidConfused

Some of these names are extremely "brave". I hope your children are the popular type!

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 23/03/2014 20:05

I think Abe is very nice. Obviously not a big deal, but I would assume an Abraham was Jewish (we live in a very Jewish area so I might be influenced by that).

Clargo55 · 23/03/2014 20:10

I think it's lovely and really like Abe. DH vetoed it from our list Hmm

summerlovingliz · 23/03/2014 20:14

Sorry don't like it at all

Pregnantberry · 23/03/2014 20:22

Hmm...

Adam, Aaron, Cain, Caleb, Levi, Phineas (Phinehas), Nathan?

Pregnantberry · 23/03/2014 20:25

"sorry, but suggestions are just not helpful right now"

Sorry, got carried away without reading your full post. I like name suggesting. Grin

Zacariah.

I'd just hate to be going:

Adam - don't like it
Aaron - DS2's middle name already
Cain - no way, he murdered his brother!
Caleb - nope, it means dog
P initials - clash with our surname

etc.
but thanks!

Cain is dreadful, imvho. So many lovely names on this thread though (except Zebedee!). :)

Bumpsadaisie · 23/03/2014 20:32

Love it. My DSs middle name.

hunreeeal · 23/03/2014 20:38

I love Zebedee! It's a fantastic name (and The Magic Roundabout isn't on TV these days anyway).

Thanks for all posts.

nice to see some of you think it's an acceptable/great name - it makes me feel good about it!

I do wish we had called them days if the week or colours of the rainbow! Grin Grin

I quite like Abe, living in North America it makes me think of Lincoln. I don't think I'd choose to have an Abraham if I already had an Isaac, as an ex-Christian I think it is a fairly appalling story.

However I quite see why it must be difficult finding a name you really like for son no.6 and with many cousins too.
