we have a shortlist for dd6 (dc10) opinions please

dd6 due in early July we have a short list i'll list them in order of preference

Miranda
Hermione
we both love these 2

however ,we have others on our longer shortlist just in case she doesn't suit either of these .
they are

Cecilia i love this dh likes it but doesn't love it and dd5's mn is Cecily
Clarissa we both like this a lot but with the death of clarissa d-w will everyone just think 2 fat ladies .

then we have the wild cards which we both love but are not 100% certain about
Winifred we both love this .we love it's meaning but are surname begins with W and ends in D. Is it too clunky . we're not sure it fits with her sisters' names
Merewen we both love it's meaning and it's sound but is it too out there and is the fact it rhymes with heroin/heroine an issue .
Priscilla is the nn prissy a deal breaker?

any advice opinions greatly received but please be gentle .

Miranda is lovely, Cecilia is nice too.

Sorry, but I think Winifred is really dingy and staid.

I like Merewen

I do like Merewen and hadn't noticed the rhyme or nearly rhyme.

I wouldn't want to be called either Prissy or Cilla myself, so I wouldn't choose Priscilla.

Miranda and Hermione are both lovely names.

I don't like the others mentioned. Stick with the first two!

Miranda or Cecilia. Don't call the poor thing Winifred, it is dreadful.

Miranda - gorgeous and seems strangely underused. I know 3 under 8 but it doesn't appear in the top 300 official list so it can't be common.

Hermione - quite like it. Never met one.

Cecilia - quite like it. Again, never met one. I don't think the middle name is an issue.

Clarissa - really like it and I've never heard of a Clarissa D-W?

Winifred - really really dislike this, sorry. Don't think Winnie is any better either. It was my great grandma's name. I've never heard it used anywhere else.

Merewen - never heard it before. Quite pretty. Is it Welsh?

Priscilla - don't like it. Just isn't a pretty sound. Don't know any.

You have TEN children?!?! Wow! I'd so love to know the names of your others!

Hermione Hermione Hermione. The more you say it the better it gets!

My late grandmother was christened Winifred in 1916 due to family politics. Nobody ever used it because it was so awful.

It also makes me think of the nice but plain girl in Ballet Shoes who is perennially overshadowed by the glamorous Fossil girls.

Mind you it also reminds me of Winifred Atwell - who is the surprisingly cool answer to the question "who was the first black person to have a UK number one single?"

Not a fan of Hermione - too Harry Potter-esque

Really like Cecilia - it's beautiful. Don't think middle name is an issue.

Don't like Clarissa (reminds of silence of the lambs and too many s-sounds - bit like a snake sound) and I really dislike Winifred.

Merewen is my favourite one on your list. I think it's Scottish?

Priscilla I don't like either. Reminds me of the musical & Elvis Presley.

With all due respect the cook was not that well known, whereas the comedian Miranda has just done a sell out arena tour!

Miranda is nice but out of all those mentioned, I like Cecilia the best. We have a similar issue with a name that we both love being a variant of our ds middle name. I kind of like to think that they link the siblings together though.

It must be a joy naming 10 children though! I could probably name 15 at this point and am getting sad that will have to come down to just 2-3 names out of all the lovely possibilities.

I think Clarissa Dickson-Wright's death will have slipped out of the public consciousness by July. If you were in labour today you might have a point (but probably not). Pretty name IMO.

Miranda is lovely, I would go with that of all the names you mention.

Thinking about your other ideas - Hermione I quite like this but it is a bit clunky. Cecilia is not as nice as Cecily and you've already decided to use that as a mn rather than a first name so it can't be one of your all time faves. Clarissa is a bit uptight sounding I think but if you wanted to use it I wouldn't worry about the Clarissa D-W association, sad fact but true by the time DD6 arrives in July everyone will have forgotten who she was. I really don't like Winifred, it sounds ugly. Merewen sounds pretty, I also like Meren - have you thought of that? Priscilla would be a no for me, it just sounds prissy and any name that shortens to an insult isn't a great idea imo.

10 children must be amazing, we've stopped at 3 but it doesn't stop me longing for more.......

i think for the reasons everyone has said we are highly unlikely to use winifred is highly unlikely .i'm not sure what she'd look like if she pops out and we go oh she looks just like a winifred .

i like clarissa but dh has mentioned the double ss sound as being to hissy and the eponymous heroine in the samuel richardson has a very tragic life which although not making it a definite no makes me rate it less highly than i otherwise would

priscilla we had discounted because of it's potential nns so i think it will remain discounted

All your chosen four are lovely, but I prefer Merewen or Cecilia. Just in case it matters, Merewen is not Scottish, as an earlier OP suggested, but early English. Many congratulations on so many DCs.

there is a little girl in my dd's class called mireya pronounced me-ray-ah. it almost Miranda and merewen fused :-)

Miranda and Hermione are lovely.

Cecilia is beautiful and uncommon and her nickname could be Celia or Cece both of which are pretty. I don't think it matters that you have a DD with Cecily as a middle name already.

I live Clarissa and don't think long-term people will think of Two fat Ladies.

Winifred is okay - made a lot better when Winnie is used as a nickname for it but it doesn't sound like it will work with your last name at all.

I like Priscilla but the nicknames Prissy and Cilla put me off a bit, neither are very attractive.

Sorry forgot Merewen - sorry I don't like it as much as the other names on your list.

Ooo - I love the name Tudor! I was going to say Hermione after your first post, and after seeing your other DCs names I think it definitely sounds the best .

I think St Cecilia was blind, I think that's the link with blindness mentioned above.but then, Amelia means missing limbs, and that's a popular name now, so many people can't have learnt their Latin.

Miranda Cecilia or Merewen Cecilia are both great names.
