Have we done this before?
Please add one girl and one boy name to the list - one that is always bound to be loved on Mumsnet.
No Gracie-Maes or Kaydens here thank you.

Ok I will begin.

I know a little Elodie.

soontobeslendergirl · 12/03/2014 23:12

Seren and Meredith aren't "MN" names, they're just Welsh names

All names come from somewhere Confused

For about a year, every girls name thread included someone saying Seren.

I didn't think the idea was to make fun of some of the "posher" or middle class or up themselves names, I thought it was about names that people on here seem to love?

Alisvolatpropiis · 12/03/2014 23:14

Elodie and Ottilie are both lovely, don't get me wrong!

I imagine I may well name my children names that result in "well that's not a well known name around here" type bales. Not on purpose, I just seem to like those kinds of names.

Mary
Albert

Meredith is my 'if I have a girl' name. I live in fear of it becoming a Ruby or Olivia. If everyone could keep it a MN Forum Only name I'd really appreciate it...Grin

There are some lovely names on this thread.

Capitola · 13/03/2014 01:16

My dcs, dh and my name are all MN approved on this thread!

Driveway · 13/03/2014 08:46

I didn't mean up themselves names. I just meant ones that people always suggest, Seren is definitely a mumsnet name! And Oliver!

Charlotte and Imogen are always suggested. I'm particularly aware of them as Imogen was on my list and I don't like the name Charlotte. I don't know any Imogen's but there are quite a few Charlottes in the playgroup we attend.

Both names, I think, have evolved from being used sparingly by a select few to now being used by everyone from all walks of life. Freakonomics explains it much better.

Suz there are 4 Gabriels at our primary school!
Love this thread tho shocked to see the highly rare name we picked for dd2 had she been a boy on here.
None of my dc names are here, nor mine or DP. exh's is,which amuses me.
I do know lots of kids irl with many of these names, including an Elodie.

MyNameIsSuz · 13/03/2014 20:40

Ah, Foxy, I'm obviously living in the wrong place! And I'd have thought a home counties market town would be just the right place for some Gabriels.

My boy's name isn't on here, but lots of the names we'd have considered if he was a girl are!

AndHarry · 13/03/2014 20:49

^All names that are forever coming up on here but I never see in RL.
