both pronounced like Harry without the H. which do u prefer and why? I'm swaying towards Aria at the mo but Ariane is more of a "proper name". Aria May or Ariane Isobel?

Aria should be pronounced with a long A at the beginning.
Aaa-ree-ya. An aria is a beautiful thing, the way the word is pronounced reflects this IMHO. To say it like 'arry-ah, with a dropped H, just sounds wrong to me, a bit like a cockney market stall holder!

Stick with Ariane. It can be pronounced the way you like it as in Harry without the H. I prefer Arianna though to Ariane.

Ariane.

Personally I prefer Ariarna and Ariadne.
