Looking for a girls name to go with DS's

I know some people think sibling names don't have to go together but to me its important that they vaguely sound right together. With this in mind, please could you give me your thoughts on which of the following 'go' with our DS's name which is Jasper. Jasper is quite unusual but the girls names we like are more popular and am concerned they'll sound odd together. I guess we need something that's quite timeless.

Emma
Emily
Sophie
Ellen
Megan
Jessica
Amy

Any other suggestions very welcome!

I know siblings called Alisha and Jasper. I really like Emily too though and wouldn't care if it was popular.

HeirToTheIronThrone · 03/03/2014 12:21

I know siblings called Matilda and Jasper which I rather like.

I know a Jasper and Daisy.

I think it calls for something a little less usual though.

Is Jasper timeless? Confused

I dunno why, but Clara screams to mind.

curiousgeorgie · 03/03/2014 14:35

I love Jasper! It was my boys name choice but I had girls.

I think Ella / Eloise and Jasper sounds great!

I quite like Jasper and Jess

Thumbwitch · 03/03/2014 15:54

I thought Christina. It's unusual these days, and it goes nicely with Jasper in my head at least.

Of your choices:
Emma - the best of your list, IMO
Emily - so many of them
Sophie - even more of these
Ellen - not sure it goes well
Megan - not sure this goes well either
Jessica - no, too similar to Jasper - Jasper and Jessica, too "twinny"
Amy - meh

Other suggestions:
Jasper and -
Lydia
Meredith
Caroline
Catherine
Laetitia

I'm probably telling you something you already know, but Jasper is quite an historical name - think Jasper Tudor who brought up Henry VII. Therefore I think it's a great combo with Emma, Emily and Sophie from your list.

Just avoid Alice as Jasper and Alice are the vampires in the Twilight series.

By the way - you have great taste in names ds is Jasper !

Mireio · 03/03/2014 20:34

Jasper and Topaz would rock ... [slinks off to get coat]

florascotia · 05/03/2014 14:13

As a previous poster has said, Jasper has Tudor/16th cent associations.

Just in case you want to continue the Tudor vibe, here is a list of names popular in the reign of Queen Elizabeth I. You need to scroll way down the webpage, past the 2013 information:
