Already have an Edward and am looking for a boys name to go with it. Like Arthur and Henry and keen to know thoughts and other suggestions. Thanks!

Ted for Edward.

Sonly - I was asking if her ds had a particular nn. Eg if he's Teddy, then Teddy and Barnaby is lovely but deffo cutesy! If he's Ed, then different names might 'go' better. I love Ted/Teddy for Edward, but others don't.

sonlypuppyfat · 03/03/2014 16:35

Oh ok sorry.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 03/03/2014 16:42

No need to say sorry. Flowers

I've taught in London and Arthur becomes Afur very quickly in the playground.

FruitbatAuntie · 03/03/2014 17:13

I really like both (very regal names), but prefer Henry personally. In fact I was desperate to call DS2 Henry, but exP wouldn't allow it Sad. I would agree that Arthur could become 'Arfur' easily round my way.

Edwin
Alfred

BobaFetaCheese · 03/03/2014 17:16

Henry.

Teddy and Henners.

I'm in Sarf Laaandan and Arthur sounds like Arfur (having said that's it's 'Enry too)

Only 'downside' I can think of is Henry and Edward are both Henry Hoover names?

Allalonenow · 03/03/2014 17:17

Arthur is a great name.

FobblyWoof · 03/03/2014 17:17

I love both. I have a friend with a little Henry Arthur Smile

RalphRecklessCardew · 03/03/2014 17:18

Arthur.

Henry's perfectly ok, but Arthur is great.

Eliii · 03/03/2014 18:55

I love Arthur!

One of my school friends is called Arthur, he never got any grief about it.

Claryrocks · 03/03/2014 19:08

Edward is a ted/teddy and we're in Yorkshire.

I realise some people may know people who got teased with the name Arthur when they were at school but names change. Ted's friends include, wilf, Freddie, Henry and Stanley so I don't think Arthur will be too unusual!

This is really helpful, thanks!

I love Arthur and would of had it for my son if it wasnt for a comment I got when discussing names with some friends...(quote)
'You can't call him arthur as he will get called arty farty at school'
