Expecting dc2 in July and have been browsing the baby names threads and completely fallen in love with Elodie. Dh not keen but I really want to persuade him so need a lovely nn to help my case!
The only name we both like is Lara but we already have a Leo so I think that's a no go?
Help me please!
Thanks

I don't think there is anything wrong with Lara and Leo, they're not too matchy matchy. I think having a name you and your husband both like is more important than what other people will think. If you do go with Elodie then Dee is a possible nickname (if I'm pronouncing it correctly!)

Lara is lovely, and much nicer than Elodie. It's also getting very popular (kind of like Amelie did a few years ago)

Both lovely names - Elodie (nn Didi) is on my short list.

How about Clara or Cara if you don't want to alliterate with big brother Leo?

I think Elodie is lovely, don't think about nicknames, just use it!

Just a thought, though. If you don't want Lara because it's too close to Leo, Elodie and Leo are even closer in sound: Leo and Elo(die).

If you pushed Ella as a nn then you might be able to side step Ellie ? It can be done - one of my childhood friends was Toey not Vicki (she was Victoria) cause she hated Vicki. Plus I like Ella as a name and Lara is on my dislike list for a number of reasons!

A friend was nicknamed Dodie when she was little, I've also heard Lolo used.
