Traditional in an area where traditional is considered quirky

Any suggestions welcome here though really .. traditional or other!

Went for George for DS and where i live people thought it was quite a quirky choice. Just thought it was cute!

Am thinking something 'quirky' again like William or Thomas or something lush like that. DH likes Luca but i just keep thinking of George Lucas as in may the force be with you/these are not the droids you're looking for. Which is a shame cause Luca is cool.

Long story short.... nice boy names anyone?!

Stanley?
Walter?
Benjamin?

"...something lush like that" - are you from S Wales by any chance?!

I am originally from S Wales, anything like George/William/Edward would be seen as 'a bit posh'. So basically the names of kings and such like.

Stanley!!! Cute! Love that.

Yeah guilty i'm in South Wales. Kallum Kayden McCauley Kelton. Had serious stick for George! But there are neighbouring areas where it 'fits in' a bit better. serious business this baby naming.

Plus i just thought i'd put a disclaimer there's nothing wrong with any of those names ... we're just struggling to have something to fit nicely with George basically , but not something he'll get stick for.

George & Fred

My dad would think George v amusing. He's a Newport bloke by birth - he basically vetoed all 'old man' names (ie. traditional) when I was pregnant.
James? Alexander? Henry? Oliver? Toby? Love Albert nn Bert/Bertie.

BSM Are you a philosopher?

Thomas is lovely, and you could claim you're naming him for Tom Jones...

Eddie? Robert?
