Thanks for the reassurance bowlersarm.

Agree, I'm sure there are lots of lovely Camerons out there to counter the unruly ones!!

My Cameron is called cam or cammy sometimes. my dh thinks it's hilarious to call him Ron or more often big Ron bit hrs only 22 months so hopefully that will stop soon!

lentilsoup21 · 20/02/2014 15:47

Thanks justmuddling, good to know. Think we would use Cameron on the BC and use cam for day to day.

Just still can't quite decide between that and Luke, argh!

I know quite a few Cameron's (being Scottish it's popular up there) and most of them are known by cam.

justmuddlingalong · 20/02/2014 15:50

It's a big decision isn't it! What about Luke as a middle name?

lentilsoup21 · 20/02/2014 15:56

Loving big Ron!!! (Although yes, funny for a while...)

Yes Luke as a middle name could work as the surname is quite long... yes it is so hard, definitely feeling the pressure to get it right!

Is your baby here yet? Maybe he looks/will look like one or the other, if that makes sense.

lentilsoup21 · 20/02/2014 16:05

It's due imminently. You're right, it might be easier when we meet the little fella...I've tried practicing saying both names but one doesn't jump out over the other...

My

InkleWinkle · 20/02/2014 16:07

If you're in Scotland no one will ever think about David Cameron Grin
Lots of Camerons about its a v. popular name here. Although not so many baby ones more age 5+?

Having said that, I prefer Luke!

justmuddlingalong · 20/02/2014 16:10

Ours was originally going to be an Alistair, but when he was born he didn't look like one. Cameron hadn't even been considered but he suited it and now I can't imagine him being anything else. There's no rush to choose. Good luck and come back and let us know what you decide. Smile

TheProsAndConsOfHitchhiking · 20/02/2014 16:12

My Cameron is mostly Cameron but my dp calls him RonCam Hmm

Sometimes I call him Cam but normally his full name.

ZenNudist · 20/02/2014 16:12

Luke. Cameron is too close to David.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 20/02/2014 16:13

I really like both, but there's no way I'd choose the former whilst 'Dave' is PM.

Bowlersarm · 20/02/2014 16:20

People are so bloody shallow, eh, OP?

Does your OH have a preference?

lentilsoup21 · 20/02/2014 16:20

We're in England, but have a Scottish surname...

Will definitely post back once we've decided/met the baby...

Thanks for all your replies xx

lentilsoup21 · 20/02/2014 16:23

OH is also tied between the two, typical! I think he thinks Cam has the edge although he does love the name Luke.

sherbetpips · 20/02/2014 16:25

Prime minister or Star Wars

MrsBungle · 20/02/2014 16:27

We are in England op although I'm scottish. As I say, no one has mentioned old call me Dave and my dh's friends are very left!

Alisvolatpropiis · 20/02/2014 23:10

Cameron.

Luke is a bit of a blah name.

Glittery7 · 20/02/2014 23:23

Cameron. I only know lovely little boys with this name.

CarriMarie · 20/02/2014 23:34

I prefer Cameron, but Luke goes well for a middle name.

spleenyone · 20/02/2014 23:36

Luke

Chloerose75 · 20/02/2014 23:40

I prefer cameron. I get your concerns about it being political but I don't think it's too big a deal as cameron was already a well known name in its own right, especially if you have a Scottish surname which "goes" with it no one will bat an eye lid. I do quite like Luke too but I would pick cameron.

Daisyjane12 · 21/02/2014 01:41

Luke! I've never met any nice Cameron Blush
