Love both these names and can't decide between them so I'd love your thoughts please!

I know I'm going to be outing myself but I think it's necessary to say I'm a Lisa... which puts me off Leon a little...
Our surname is Aldridge, DS1 is Nathan.

What do you think? Thanks!

Leon.

Haydn as in name of composer is not at all "Chavy"- not that it's a nice term anyway.

It's been around for years, unlike the other names, which are made-up. It is a traditional Welsh name, I believe. I have a much older cousin named it.

Tis nice to just agree to disagree so nicely, Zing. Grin
The name has bad connotations for me. Hayden - meh.

Onesleeptillwembley · 13/02/2014 18:45

Oh, and sorry for the cross post, Zing. Blush
But to be fair you're probably running out of names now. Grin
I'm from a big family and I got the 'leftover' names, although all my life my dad has run through my siblings names before getting to mine when talking to me. I even answer to Peter and Jeremy now!

A name being around for years doesnt stop it being chavy mainstream.

It being over used and incredibly common makes it chavy mainstream.

Wembley

I'm so tempted to say "I disagree!" Grin

but yeah, it's the mature thing to do.Smile

Strongly dislike Hayden, Leon is nice though.

Leon

I always associate "Haydn" as being a rather posh name, as all the boys named that at Uni were rather posh and had friends called Crispin and StJohn Grin. Unfortunately, I think all the Jaydens and Kaydens etc have changed the feel of the name.

Leon makes me think of the film. Just don't have a daughter called Matilda.

I would suggest Hayden because Leon sounds so fierce. Hayden sounds sweet and thoughtful. Anyway, it's really your choice when it comes to your kid's name. If you think Leon is something that sounds great to you, then go for it.
