Classic boys names?

I am only 6 weeks pregnant and thinking ahead!

DS is William Charles. We loved William, it was the only boys name we could agree on last time. I wasn't sure about Charles as I felt it sounded a bit "royalist" used together, but it's a family name for DH so we decided to use it anyway. If bump is a girl, she will probably be Lucy Elizabeth Hope. But if he is a boy? We'd like another classic name, ideally something fairly timeless that isn't going to date too much, but I don't want to use another current royal family name - for example, we couldn't have William and Harry! That said, I quite like George, but it may have to be a middle name if we use it. Surname is a one syllable, British surname, a bit like Clarke or Smith.

Our ideas so far are
Alexander
Lewis
James
George (probably as a middle name)
I like Benjamin and Samuel, DH not so keen.
DH likes Rowan, I'm not sure.
We both like Daniel, Thomas and Henry, but we can't use them as family have nicked them!

I'm not so keen on:
Edward
Oscar
Oliver
Christopher
Timothy
David (because every bloke of my generation seem to be called Dave!)

What else would we like?

Thanks for all the ideas!
I'm going to add Peter, Benedict, and Joseph to the list. I think my favourite is Alexander but DH is not sure. Still, I have another 8.5 months to persuade him (assuming the little bean sticks, of course - fingers crossed!).

Fingers crossed for you, hope all goes well. I have a little Peter, just turned one. I haven't met any others under the age of 38! Must be due a revival! I also have an Alexander but we use Alec. Lots of young Alex's running about now though where I live, it seems a popular name. Michael is a fairly robust name, nn to suit every personality with Mick, Mikey, Mike, or keep with Michael.
