I'm down to two names Freya or Grace.

I was really keen on Freya but I'm worried it's too fashionable.

I more recently started to conside Grace...but is it too popular?

What do you think?

So what you're saying is both of them are pretty popular. Which, then, do you prefer? :)

I have never met a baby called either, for what it's worth.

eltsihT · 09/02/2014 22:55

We were going to have a freja (Icelandic spelling) but changed our minds when I realised I knew 6 Freya's under 5.

I think grace is a very pretty name.

Tea1Sugar · 09/02/2014 23:56

Love Gracie fwiw

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 10/02/2014 00:01

I would choose Freya, as Grace is one of the names I have an irrational dislike of (the others being Alice, Pippa & Petra FWIW).

Sorry, I realise that may be little help!

Shellywelly1973 · 10/02/2014 00:02

I like them both...i know of a little girl called Grace but I've never met a Freya.

This actually gets harder the longer it goes on!

Definitely Freya!

Mrswellyboot · 10/02/2014 00:08

I like Grace. It's timeless.

LizLemongrass · 10/02/2014 00:11

Grace.

Freya appeared almost from nowhere and that is never good (tracy, wayne) . I like it! But would chhoose grace over freya.

Shellywelly1973 · 10/02/2014 00:31

Tea1sugar I like Gracie too - though would have Grace on her birth certificate.

I've never shortened or adapted any of the other dc's names but if I go for the name Grace, I might well consider calling her Gracie.

Toss a coin ;)

I like Grace :)

Saharap2 · 10/02/2014 00:50

Ahh I absolutely love both! Sorry not very helpful but both gorgeous names so I don't think you'll be making a bad decision either way. Can you use one as the middle name?

RunRabbit · 10/02/2014 00:54

Have you tried saying the names to her and see if there's any reaction?
I know she's only 6 days old but you might get a smile or yawn.

Or does she suit one name more than the other?

TheZeeTeam · 10/02/2014 00:55

I always loved Grace right up until there was an annoying Grace on BB one year. That's long gone though, so go with Grace!

louismama · 10/02/2014 01:05

I prefer Grace too as it is elegant and timeless, but is it makes you feel better my DS2 was 5 and half weeks before we could agree on a name! Worth taking your time over I still love all 3 of mine (name choices that is obviously I love the children) We had silly nickmanes for them till we decided ie DD was sweetpea for ages, and DS1 Moto after a ad that was about at the time.

Dovahkiin · 10/02/2014 02:12

Definitely Grace - beautiful and timeless

And congratulations!

SqutterNutBaush · 10/02/2014 02:16

Both are very popular in our area but Grace less so.

I know 4 Freya's and 2 Grace/Gracie's

Definitely Grace, but I'm slightly biased as DD is Gracie. I like Freya too.

CheerfulYank · 10/02/2014 06:19

Grace. Won't date, Freya will.

Timetoask · 10/02/2014 06:44

I love Grace.

Longdistance · 10/02/2014 07:06

I love the name Grace, we couldn't use it as our surname starts with Gr. Good luck with whichever you decide.

TamerB · 10/02/2014 07:22

Both nice. Why does popularity matter if you like them? You might pick something unusual and find it in the top ten by the time she starts school!

TamerB · 10/02/2014 07:23

I know an Evie, it was very unusual when she was named but now I know masses of them.

BethGoLightly · 10/02/2014 07:25

Both really lovely, I marginally prefer Grace. Perhaps choose the name that seems to suit your baby the most or the one you prefer to say to her.

PenelopeLane · 10/02/2014 07:31

They are both popular enough that you are probably likely to come across other children called both names, so you might as well just pick the one you like the most.
