Okay maybe 13 weeks if we're really struggling to decide Grin but we have some more middle names for our chosen first name, 'Celyn' (Kellin)

We like Welsh names and literature names. We don't want ones with too many 'l's in the middle because of surname, and love 'Alice' but my parents would sing "Who the is Alice" and tempting as it is to disown them, they're not that bad in general so Alice is out. Surname begins with 'W'.

OUR LIST

Celyn Eve
Celyn Haf
Celyn Fflur
Celyn Gwawr
Celyn Tesni
Celyn Tegan
Celyn Austen
Celyn Lyra
Celyn Scarlett
Celyn Darcey
Celyn Alyssa
Celyn Madelyn

If anyone needs help with pronounciation just ask. We're not overly worried about pronounciation of middle name as it won't be used as frequently.

Thank you Grin

Celyn Lyra seems to have a nice ring to it!

Is Fflur pronounced like the French fleur for flower? If so, I like that one

MoominIsGoingToBeAMumWaitWHAT · 09/02/2014 09:43

It's like "Flear" is the best way I can describe it but it sounds prettier than how I can describe it Grin

Not sure about Celyn Haf tbh (doesn't that translate as Holly Summer?).

From your list I like Celyn Eve and Celyn Lyra.

What about Celyn Awen or Celyn Lowri?

MoominIsGoingToBeAMumWaitWHAT · 09/02/2014 12:01

Thanks for the replies :)

CatsAre - yep, Haf was OH's suggestion. I've tried to avoid anything with double-flower or anything that sounds too "hippy-ish" when translated Grin

I love Celyn Lowri, OH doesn't Sad Awen doesn't flow with the surname.

I like Eve or Madelyn. Is that the Welsh spelling of 'Madeleine'? Are you living in Wales?

NadiaWadia · 15/02/2014 05:33

Celyn Rhiannon?

MoominIsWaitingToMeetHerMiniMe · 22/02/2014 08:54

We've settled on Celyn Teagan :) (although 'Tegan' is the correct spelling, it's also the Welsh word for 'toy', so we wanted to make that dinstinction clear)

Thanks everyone for your advice :)
