Which spelling do you prefer? I like both and Kitty as a nn.
Please note Im not expecting just very broody Grin.
Also if you think either would go better with Georgia my dd's name
Thanks

KatandKit I automatically thought of Anne Shirley!

She says that Catherine with a C looks smug. I agree with her.

TheGonnagle · 08/02/2014 17:38

I may be a little biased, but Katherine is absolutely the way forwards!

How can a letter look smug? Confused Anne Shirley was a bit of a fruit loop, anyway.

For what it's worth, my friend Catherine now says she wishes it was Katherine, or Katharine. As apparently that's closer to the Greek original. I don't know how you can tell though, given the Greek alphabet is completely different!

All these spellings have a long history in this country, of course. Lovely, classic name.

I'm pregnant with dd2 (providing they were right at the scan!)

She will be Katherine but known as Katie Smile

ZenNudist · 08/02/2014 18:12

I prefer Catherine but its one of my names!

Oriunda · 08/02/2014 18:33

KathArine

MuttonCadet · 08/02/2014 18:38

I like Kathryn best

napoleonsnose · 08/02/2014 18:54

I'm a Catherine but only called it officially. Have always been Katie although this does pose a few problems when I have cheques made out to Mrs K napoleonsnose instead of Mrs C. I prefer Catherine over Katherine as I was often abbreviated to Cathy at school which I loathed.

NadiaWadia · 08/02/2014 19:24

Sorry, Napoleon, I don't get your last sentence. You prefer Catherine to Katherine because you were often called Cathy as school, which you don't like? Eh?

DewClawDisaster · 08/02/2014 19:50

I love KathArine - looks really pleasing!

ChampagneSorbet · 09/02/2014 21:29

I prefer Catherine.
