Oh Oscar is lovely I know you can't use it but it is lovely dd would of been an oscar

I had Elodie on my list too, also quite like Eloise

GillyBillyWilly · 01/02/2014 08:49

Elizabeth and Eloise were on our list.

Elizabeth is still kind of in my own mental list Smile

but I think Eloise is now officially off completely as DH just says NO NO NO whenever I've said it Grin

Ah light...Penelope is another one we can't really use as we actually know 2 Penelopes now actually!

Florence and Amelie are also NOT really options which is a shame because I love them. Argh!

My oh also did not like Eloise or elodie but I think his issue is liking familiar names that's he's sure how to spell and pronounce

Mumof3xx · 01/02/2014 08:52

Amelie is becoming very common anyway I think

And I'm not keen on Florence incase people called her flo!

adaloveslace · 01/02/2014 09:53

Gilly, I love all your girls names. Francesca is fabulous but I worry about the Pope link making it very popular. Juliet is a long standing favourite of mine and probably my favourite on your list (can't use it as a close friend has.) Silvie and Silvia are both lovely and I have a soft spot for Vivienne. You can't go wrong with any of them (but do use Juliet!)

I dropped off the June board (found it tricky to keep up) but hope everything's going great for you.

adaloveslace · 01/02/2014 09:56

(I like your boys names too but know a couple of each - I have two other DC - so find it hard to be that objective about them. Alexander's a good, strong name though.)

Thebignamechange · 01/02/2014 09:56

Love love love your girls list :) all lovely and underused IMO
Not mad on your boys list they are all ok but nothing stands out-
Adding Albert, Rafe and Roman as suggestions

OddFrog · 01/02/2014 10:02

I have a Sylvia and I love her name. Go with Silvia, it's easily the best Wink. I like Frederick most from your boy's names, nn Freddy.

moobaloo · 01/02/2014 10:41

My favourites from yours are

Alexander or Frederick for a boy

Juliet or Vivienne for a girl

(My boy - due in May - is going to be Frederick Grin nn Freddy)

InfiniteJest · 01/02/2014 11:58

I really like Juliet and Sebastian!

Other girl suggestions:

Amelie
Violet
Evangeline
Elodie
Olivia

InfiniteJest · 01/02/2014 12:00

Oops, just saw you can't use Amelie. But if you liked Eloise, what about Elise?

baskingseals · 01/02/2014 12:13

My favourites from your list are Alexander and Silvia.

What about
Marianne

Miranda

Cecilia

Belinda

GillyBillyWilly · 01/02/2014 12:57

Thank you thank you! Smile
Loving these extra suggestions.... Will have to put forward a few of these to my husband when he gets home from work later!

Miranda just reminds me of Miranda Hart... and I really can't stand her! (Sorry to all the Miranda fans!)

Cecilia reminds me of the madness song... And my dad is a huge madness fan and will think its to do with that... So no! Grin

Belinda is my best friends mum... And... No Hmm haha. But I actually like the name!

Marianne is nice but a lady in my work in called Marianne and she's... A bit... Odd..... Don't think I can get past that! Grin

OP posts:
GillyBillyWilly · 01/02/2014 13:01

But thanks for the suggestions basking... They're all great names but just remind me of people I don't really like! Grin

Infinite, I love Elise but my husband seems to really dislike Elise AND Eloise. Don't know why! Hmm

Oooh I like violet... and we both like Olivia a lot but we seem to know a lot of baby Olivia's!

Evangeline actually popped up the other day but don't think my husband was interested.

Quite like Elodie... Hmmm... That's an interesting one that I haven't thought of before.

Thank you!

Bignamechange, I've suggested Albert to DH a few times but he's not a fan.
We know someone who just had a Rafe and DH laughed out loud and said it was a silly name (I quite like it!).
And roman is nice although I don't think DH would like that either.. But I will throw it in to the conversation later and see what he says! Grin

Oops and hello and thanks Ada!
Hope you're well? SmileSmileSmile

Mumof3xx · 01/02/2014 13:07

Elodie is lovely

BrunoBrookesDinedAlone · 01/02/2014 13:11

You've had great feedback on the boys names - I'd go for Sebastian - Sebastian Lucas or Sebastian Frederick go well.

Girls - I actually like them all! - I'd go for Juliet but would definitely spell it Juliette. Other names that spring to mind from your list:

Josephine
Anna
Melissa
Vanessa

neverenoughwine · 01/02/2014 14:22

Sebastian and Zachary or how about Alistair (Ali for nn) as opposed to Alexander. I know one 31 now, all the girls loved him when we were 15 - still do ;) manly name with a gorgeous nn. He's never met another and works worldwide.

Juliet or Francesca for me :D xx

GillyBillyWilly · 01/02/2014 15:06

Ahhh alistair is another one that was on our list... Still kind of is!
Really like it Smile

Salmotrutta · 01/02/2014 16:28

My DH always liked the name Eloise - because of the song by Barry Ryan (70s?)!

It is a nice name but we didn't go for it in the end in case our DD had to keep clarifying it wasn't Louise/Elise etc. Confused

Seems a daft reason to vetoe it looking back - after nearly 30 years!

Salmotrutta · 01/02/2014 16:29

I like Sylvia too!

And Alistair.
