Bit of an odd question

So, I really love our baby girl name, and DP said he did too, but suddenly he's having doubts and said he wants me to 'convince him'.... anyone else had this issue? How do I 'bring him round' to what we both used to think was the perfect name??

Has your baby girl been born & named yet or are you talking about your potential baby girl name?

I think we all have a right to change our minds - and with baby names Im sure it's very common. I wouldn't want to have to convince DH over the name of our daughter, it should be a name you both are happy with and a joint decision.

Well, that's reasonable, but he says he wants to use it, he's just 'having a doubt that doesn't make any sense' and would rather be 'brought round' because he does think it's 'perfect'. I'm 20 weeks so we have some time yet. It IS the perfect name though, which is why I'm stressing. It's been a loooooonnnnng road to get there too.

Sounds like he's just having a wobble.
Naming a baby is difficult and a big responsibility so it's understandable I guess.
Maybe just remind him of the long journey it's taken to finding that name and all the good things about it. And maybe come up with some ridiculous alternatives to help him realise the name you've chosen is a winner!

Are you going to let us know what the name is? (pretty please!)

Snowlet · 22/01/2014 11:00

ah Toffee I'm really sorry but we're keeping it to ourselves, I'd feel very disloyal if I told anyone (even just MN) when I know DP hasn't

Thank you so much for your advice, maybe I should just start suggesting ridiculous things, that could work!
