Sibling names that don't "match"?

Never even thought about this until I came on here! But now I'm paranoid that my third child's name is too different to my first two.

Think along the lines of

James
Alice

and

Willow

I haven't ruined their lives have I?!

Nope had friends with kids along the lines of Mary Andrew and London all the names suited the individual kids. They dont have to match.

Thank you.

All the short listed names for DD2 (Nancy, Camilla, Francesca etc) just didn't suit, and her more "hippy" name did. Plus I knew secretly DP didn't really like the other names but didn't want to admit it, bless. I worry too much!

I love all three names. In fact my ds is a James, my dd could well have been an Alice and if I ever had a third I would happily consider a Willow! Don't know if that helps at all?!

AngelsInWinter · 21/01/2014 20:18

Haha I love all three names too, although they were just examples.
Actual names are:

Adam
Imogen
Willow

(Hello outed myself!)

But you have made me feel better Grin

My children's names totally don't match, they are completely differemt 'styles' and from completely different sources. I never really thought about it until someone asked why we'd taken such a different tack with DS's name.

They are both names I love and were both chosen carefully for reasons that matter to us. So that's surely all that counts?

AngelsInWinter · 21/01/2014 20:25

Yes, QOFE, it is isnt it? I think some people on here will just pick at anything tbf. :)

I like sibling names to make sense together.

Not that it matters much, but it just pleases me for no particular reason.

Adam, Imogen, and Willow work very nicely together.

Even your first example - Alice and James are very classic names so you can kind of put anything with them. 3rd kids often have the one slightly wacky name :o

Aww you think? Thank you (got goosebumps now... It's so odd seeing a 'stranger' write your baby's names out... Yes I'm weird! Haha).

Well maybe we'll just have to have a fourth to balance the names out Wink
