I love Edie and Esther, not sure on Martha.

Algorithm · 20/01/2014 22:51

Edie is my favourite, preferably as a NN for something like Edith or Eden. Esther I am on the liking side of impartial and Martha I just don't get the hype over, honestly.

gruffalosfriend · 20/01/2014 22:53

I like Martha.

Edie looks like a boys name, Ed or Edward.

RuinedAndNotorious · 20/01/2014 22:58

I like them all, but Martha is my favourite. Followed by Esther, I think. You have good taste!

newyearhere · 20/01/2014 23:44

I like Edie, short for Edith.

Elsie, Elspeth, Elodie, Thea, Melissa?

HyvaPaiva · 20/01/2014 23:45

Edie but only as a shortened form of Edith.

Mutteroo · 21/01/2014 01:46

Love the name Edie & its great as a nn or a main name. Not keen on Esther but quite like Martha. What about Elodie, Amelie, Beth/Bethan, Eloise, Hetty, or Naomi?

hatebeak · 21/01/2014 12:58

Love Esther, then Martha.
Hester, Susannah, Annie, Sylvie, Sarah, Dora, Clara, Ruth, Jean, Maude?

smother · 21/01/2014 16:31

Love all. What about Frances, Ruth, Ellen....?

CPtart · 21/01/2014 16:54

Love Esther. Edie far too close to all the millions of Evie's. Martha is dreadful.

Cardilover · 23/01/2014 22:25

Thanks. Love sylvie, Annie, Ruth and Dora but they've all been used by friends already. Bah!

Like Edie as nn for Edith. Other suggestions (for some reason all 'C' names) are Celia, Cora, Cleo and Celeste.

sunwish · 24/01/2014 00:44

I'm not keen on Martha or Esther but really like Edie, as a nickname for Edith. Love the suggestions of Elspeth and Elodie.

AlfAlf · 24/01/2014 00:49

Edie. My niece called dd3 Edie when dn was only 1.5 and couldn't pronounce her real name, I slightly wished her name was Edie and in fact it did become her nickname for a while.

poppydaisy · 24/01/2014 08:44

Love Martha and Esther.

Edie looks masculine. Also people will mispronounce it (Eddie).

Sunbeam18 · 24/01/2014 09:12

Martha. I like Maude, Iris and Cleo too

telsa · 24/01/2014 12:30

Martha is lovely. Or Eliza, Magda, Melissa, Maude, Edith, Melody, Helena, Marsha, Jessamy

Janorisa · 24/01/2014 14:11

I really like them all, but Martha and Esther would be my preferred choices.

Rhubarbgarden · 24/01/2014 18:28

Esther. I love Edith but not Edie, and Martha is a bit meh.

MarieJeanne · 24/01/2014 18:30

Esther ok
Edith (Edie ) ok
Don't like martha

kelper · 24/01/2014 18:30

Martha. I love Martha!

Bowlersarm · 24/01/2014 18:34
