Pick which one you think is the best.

Khylan? Why?
Like Finlay out of your choices.

FunLovinBunster · 17/01/2014 13:23

Once, twice and thrice awful names.

Wallpaper123 · 17/01/2014 13:26

Finley is nice but frankly the other two are very chavvy.

Theonlyoneiknow · 17/01/2014 13:29

Bog off with the chavvy comments.

OP - which name do you like best? That's what matters.

SophieElmer · 17/01/2014 13:44

If it has to be one of those, Finlay has to be the best of a not so great bunch.

But it's your baby so do whatever you want

notso · 17/01/2014 13:48

Finley is a fire engine- not a child

I suppose Thomas is a tank engine, George is a pig and Jake is a Neverland pirate. Finlay was a name in the real world long before the children's programme. It's not as if she's suggesting calling him Maca Paca Hmm

Theonlyoneiknow · 17/01/2014 14:02

and Rory is a Racing Car (a name LOVED on these threads!)

jamtoast12 · 17/01/2014 14:10

Finlay is nice but the other too are terrible sorry! Even if they're less popular than Finlay they sound much more 'common'. Harley is more a girls name anyway isn't it?

YoureBeingASillyBilly · 17/01/2014 14:37

Grin @ maca paca. At least that would be less likely to be one of eleventy billion in his class!

Belize · 17/01/2014 15:29

Chavvy was the word that sprung to mind when I saw Harley and Khylan. Sorry that it isn't a pc expression but it was, involuntarily, the first word that came into my mind.

NinjaPenguin · 17/01/2014 16:33

I love Harley (it was the name of an ex foster brother!) and considered it for DS. I like the nicknames Lee and Harry. It sounds kind of strong and handsome, but also sweet.

I like Khylan, but not much compared to Harley and Finlay. Kieran maybe? Kasey?

Finlay is lovely, especially with the nickname Finn Smile

ComposHat · 17/01/2014 16:44

With baby names I dislike

  1. surnames as first names (Jackson, Harrison, Blane)

  2. wacky and/or confusing spellings

  3. Faux Irish snd Scottish names when thw family have no Irish or Scottish ancestry.

So thats two (and possibly three) of my pet peeves in three names.

TidyDancer · 18/01/2014 12:32

Finley. But only under duress. Sorry, but I actually dislike all three, just Finley slightly less so than the others.

BonnieWeeJeannieMcCall · 18/01/2014 15:28

Finlay.
Then Harley.

Khylan is one of those names that will be forever misspelled, and possibly mispronounced.

Belize · 18/01/2014 15:33

Boy names beginning with K just seem to fall into a particular category unfortunately.

EirikurNoromaour · 19/01/2014 21:34

Still no to Khylan
Actually like Harley. Less common than Finlay too.

Butterfly82 · 19/01/2014 21:46

I like Finlay but very popular where I am as is Harley

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 20/01/2014 06:19

Finlay I like. Harley and Khylan both belonged to a family I used to live near on the local housing estate. They were both under 5 and used to roam free . Their delightful mother used to open the upstairs window and shout "ARLEEEEE, KAAAIIIIIIII! !!!!!!" at the top of her lungs.
Sadly both names give me cold sweats nowadays! Sad

HopeS01 · 20/01/2014 08:39

Confused not getting the responses you wanted on the other thread?

Finlay's okay... But I prefer Finn.
I know a baby Harley and he is gorgeous, so that clouds my judgment.
The K ones I really hate. Sorry.

AntoinetteCosway · 20/01/2014 09:01

Khylan is awful. Unless it's from another language/culture in which case I apologise! But in English it just doesn't sound like a name.

Finlay is ok. They all have certain connotations though.

LydiaLunches · 20/01/2014 09:06

Finbar
Fintan
Harvey
Love Flynn
