Alexandra is just beautiful, whereas Briony just isn't (sorry!).

Just a personal experience from living with the name (y instead of i, I have never forgiven my parents. Ever.

Alexandra Jean Michele
Do not like Briony - sorry

eatyourveg · 11/01/2014 15:17

Alexandra Elizabeth Michele - not one of the choices I know but still from your shortlist - Jean Michele reminds me of the French pop star Jean Michel Jarre

bakingtins · 11/01/2014 17:11

Alexandra Elizabeth Michelle.

Not keen on Briony or Jean.

Rosieliveson · 11/01/2014 17:16

My first thought was also whether Alexandra Elizabeth Michelle was an option.
If not is go Bryony Jean. I think I like the two shorter names together.

littleredsquirrel · 11/01/2014 17:16

Michelle surely rather than Michele?

I quite like Briony. Not at all keen on jean.

Bowlersarm · 11/01/2014 17:18

I like Briony. The middle names are all fine.

I quite like Alexandra too, but not Alex, and it is much more popular.

MoreSkyThanWeNeed · 11/01/2014 17:22

Alexandra Jean.

I think Jean will be making a comeback soon.

Love how Briony looks, but it sounds like an adjective to describe how Brian-like someone is.

CaptainCunt · 11/01/2014 17:32

If you like Brian but on a girl, how about Brianette or Brianelle?

TheGirlOnTheLanding · 11/01/2014 17:34

I like both Briony and Alexandra but really not keen on Jean, possibly because I'm Scottish and to me it's too Bonnie Wee Jeannie McCall. To me Briony is like Briar Rose, a pretty little name, rather than anything to do with blokes called Brian. Alexandra is very elegant and so possibly harder to carry off. All the Alexandras I've met have shortened it to Alex, so you need to be sure you like the NN too.

2kidsintow · 11/01/2014 18:24

I know a Michele, so it's not a typo.

I've taught a Briony and like the name.

HyvaPaiva · 11/01/2014 18:27

Alexandra is lovely.
I really don't like Briony, sorry.

sleepingbeautiful · 11/01/2014 19:49

I prefer Briony. Pretty and unusual. Loads of Alexandras around, plus their male counterparts.

strawberryswing · 11/01/2014 20:34

Don't want to carry on, but I'm genuinely embarrassed when people ask me my name and I have to say its Bryony. I get a lot of looks, and some people have told me it's awful. I spent loads of my childhood longing to be called something else. The only other Bryony I've ever met hated it equally.

I've not seen much loving for the name at all. Just something to consider :)

Haha! Thanks
Briony spelt with an I is a flower name as far as I'm aware - but good to know how somebody with the name finds it thank you.
In case people find it interesting: to my knowledge Michele is the original French spelling of Michelle -( Michel been the boy's name and you don't actually need the extra l) the two lls is a later change that came is with it bein used is English as is now so used its a norm - probable because of 'belle' - so neither is actually 'wrong' or 'right' but we are half French and it's after a French grandmother which is why we'd spell it that way ( not cause I actually feel strongly about it per say). But keen to make it a middle name so she needn't sown her life correcting people!

We like all the nns that come from Alexandra anyway.
Thank you
