Think there will be a lot of correcting people that it's not
Jessica or Tessa. Nay, sorry.

OhCaptainDarling · 11/01/2014 13:23

I agree with pp, what about Jecca?

Frontdoorstep · 11/01/2014 13:39

Sounds to me like there are letters missing and it should be Jessica.

YouGrateMyCheese · 11/01/2014 13:50

I really love it. I like that the sounds are familiar - Jessica, Tessa - but that it's just a little bit different. She just sounds like a hip girl. There's also Jessamine, which comes from the medieval French word for jasmine.

YouGrateMyCheese · 11/01/2014 13:53

Oh and I know a Jessica who has said that she wishes her name was Jessa! (Why she can't just use it as a nickname is beyond me...)

GwendolineMaryLacey · 11/01/2014 13:54

ooh, I rather like that.

florascotia · 11/01/2014 14:04

And there's Jessamy, too. Like Jessica/Jessamine, easily contracted to nickname Jessa if you/your daughter/her friends prefer....

eachtigertires · 11/01/2014 19:23

I like it. Better than Jessica or Tessa.

thegreylady · 11/01/2014 20:10

Jessamy is lovely.

twinklestar2 · 11/01/2014 22:02

I like Jessica but it's spoilt by a friend I've fallen out with, plus it's really popular.

Jessa is a name I heard years ago; it's the nickname a friend of a friend who's name is Jessica.

Well Jessamy and Jessica are lovely but Jessa as a name on its own sounds a bit made up and trying too hard to be 'different'.

BunnyLebowski · 11/01/2014 22:06

Yes from me. I love it.

YoungBritishPissArtist · 11/01/2014 22:16

I've only heard it on Girls, which would put me off tbh. I don't think many people watch it though and I'm sure it'll've faded without trace in 5 years time.

I do like the name but maybe put Jessica on birth certificate.

newyearhere · 11/01/2014 23:30

Fine as a nickname for Jessica but I wouldn't use as a stand-alone name.

17leftfeet · 11/01/2014 23:34

What's that family called with about a million children called -is it the duggars?

They have a jessa Grin
