It's early days in the pregnancy, but seeing as our DS (aged 3) was registered a day late by the time we decided on his name, we are keen to avoid the naming stress again!!

Just to give you an idea of names I like, for boys I have always liked Gabriel, but husband doesn't. I also like Cassian, but this will be too much with Lucien I think.

Only have Clara and Delphine on the girl's shortlist so far.

All suggestions welcome....we named Lucien following a Mumsnet suggestion, so there is a good possibility we will find a name here again I hope!

I love Cassius and Quentin

Congratulations OP!

Cassian is lovely but I agree that it maybe isn't the best as it has such a similar sound to Lucien.

How about:
Caspar
Jude
Rex
Hugo
Milo
Cosmo
Etienne

Cora
Claudia
Blythe
Juno
Seren
Sylvie

Anjou · 10/01/2014 14:44

Sorry - just realised Hatebeak already suggested both Caspar & Cora.

Love the name Lucien and think that these would go really well:

Clara
Florence
Athena

Quentin
Dominic
Gabriel

ProfondoRosso · 10/01/2014 14:48

I love Lucien. If I had a DD, she'd be Lucienne.

For a brother, I like Linus, George or Emeric.

For a girl, Ghislaine, Esther or Severine.

MadeOfStarDust · 10/01/2014 14:49

showing my age now, but a sister for Lucien would have to be Carol.... (Liver Birds)

BlueChampagne · 10/01/2014 16:47

Conrad for a boy; Vashti for a girl.

Some brilliant suggestions to get us started, thank you. Please keep them coming. Anjou pretty much all of the names you suggest are ones I like, and have been considering!

Interesting that Cassius has been mentioned a couple of times. I love it, but I am a bit worried that with Lucien it might be a bit Roman themed? Love Juno for a girl too. I also like Seraphina...one that I have only just remembered I like

Lawrence

Girls names:

Clara
Seraphina
Greta

I am loving your suggestions Lottystar, yes we do have very similar tastes! Have Serephina and Clara on the list already, but also putting Greta, Isolde, Rufus on (is Rufus getting too common though?). Have always liked August too, but I don't have the nerve and DH has vetoes anyway.

Alas, I have a good friend with a Sebastien so that is out...

I love Fabian, but is it too much with Lucien? They sound very similar in French I think, maybe not quite so much in English.

Like two of yours too Swangirl. Juno and Odin.

Thanks very much, please keep them coming!
